Ah, you beat me to the sarcastic comment. I was going to tell them to visit bob's axes in Lumbridge! On a serious note, make sure you have the best pickaxe you can use on your toolbelt. And if you didn't already know, utilise stone-spirits, ore-box and mining aura. Bob says:

Mining is not as AFKable as it used to be.

Unless you're spam-clicking the rock, your stamina will drop. As your energy bar depletes, it will take you longer to gather ores. However, when you click a rock, you replenish your stamina.

This change was part of the Mining & Smithing update of 2019. Aslon Dak: Still 'Scaping after 19 years!
