I'm glad I got my account back but I am pissed that you have allowed someone to steal it in the first place with dual authenticator. Yes I attempted to stop them LAST FRIDAY but apparently your shitty detection system allowed someone to log on regardless and DISABLE my PHONE authenticator... This isn't the first time either and it's extremely frustrating and saddening that you guys suck so much. ToA loot gone, Rapier gone, Full crystal, EVERYTHING...... So I ask again what is the point of having an authenticator's if they don't work and you guys still allowed someone NOT EVEN IN THE SAME COUNTRY to take my account.. Get your shit together and stop sucking fucking dick. Or probably for my benefit so this stupid shit stops happening just ban my account please :) Hours wasted and I'm not going to put more time into rebuilding for a second time because your shitty system can't detect an IP change HALFWAY accross the world or a false email address being changed to. So I guess all in all fuck you jagex and any amount of money I've given you. Fucking worse support than Blizzard and that is saying something

To disable an authenticator, you need access to the registered email address on the account. If someone was able to disable your authenticator, it sounds like they had access to that, or had enough creation information about your account that they were able to recover it and change the email address. If they've got access to your registered email address, you likely have bigger issues on your hands than just your RuneScape account.

Jagex recommends all players also enable 2 factor authentication on their email address to prevent unauthorized access to it.

Improved account security is coming soon to all players - that's something they have been working on for some time. Jagex is currently hosting a closed beta of their new Jagex Account system . Given the issues with your account security you are experiencing, I would highly consider migrating to that when it hits the open beta stage in a few months time. Jagex accounts use industry standard security mechanisms to keep your account secure - mandatory multi-factor authentication (being required to verify your login either via email, via authenticator, or via backup code, depending on your settings), case sensitive passwords, a non-static login email, and more. Additionally, accounts migrated to a Jagex account cannot be recovered via the RuneScape account recovery system.

to get past authenticator it isnt down to jagex error. its a user error. so all of that profanity you just used its best to read it again but now you know where it should be aimed at :P

but there are many ways to bypass authenticator and i said before its down to user error for that to happen, such as email getting hacked. and if email isnt 100% secure then bam they can bypass authenticator because you didnt secure your email properly.

the list is a long list but i would assume ^^ that is the most likely reason

Currently they don't even need access to your registered email to bypass authenticator. You might have done that for them. If you have your account linked to facebook, google, steam or any other platform and tick boxed the trust this for 30 days and they have access to those things as well they bypass authentication cause you said it was trusted.

So you may wish to go into the account settings and see if any of those things are linked and if so remove them.
