I was counting down the days until the release of DT2 with anticipation and excitement.. and, I must say that I found the new content to be overall great. I eagerly finished the quest on release day in hopes of being one of the first to get their hands on new unique loot from the new bosses and to hopefully have a big pay day. I started to fight all four bosses until the new vestige drop mechanic was announced, and then decided to focus my time and energy at Vardorvis for this sole reason because I had the most kills there out of the four at that time. Over a week later of grinding this challenging boss non-stop, I have surpassed 1,500 kc and have not seen one vestige, axe piece, nor any robe piece. It is all I have been doing, and I have met others with a shared experience of fatigue, feeling unrewarded and growing disappointment given the lvl of difficulty & required focus. Most of me feels that I must just be very unlucky, however as my dry kc continues a slight part of me also questions the validity of the new drop mechanic (as it has been confirmed there were unrelated drop table glitches at the Whisperer). Regardless, what most troubles me most is how the known"3/3" vestige drop mechanic makes the player experience less enjoyable, and I have met many others that feel the same. What we would find more enjoyable is being able to hop from boss to boss to diversify our PvM experience without feeling like it is time wasted towards the goal of receiving that 3/3 vestige drop roll. Not knowing if I am close or not to this 3/3 roll causes an internal dilemma. It is me wanting to move on to something new, but am I 2/3? Would it all have been for nothing? If I come back later, would the profit from the vestige drop even be worth the amount of time spent anymore? With that said Jagex, I hope that you would consider not implementing this type of drop mechanic in the future (possible future poll question?). Anyways, I hope others have found more luck and enjoyment.
