Hey all :)

Sometimes I accidentally hit CTRL R which reloads the page and destroys my draft post.
I mean to use CTRL T to open a new tab to fetch a link, but I don't always hit the right keys.

Is there something I can do to prevent it from destroying my draft / from reloading a page that contains a draft post in the reply box?

I just always make sure to periodically copy what I've done to the clipboard so far, due to this PTSD fear :P .

Not a bad idea! Thanks for your reply :)
I'll be sure to CTRL A CTRL C before doing CTRL T. Soon it'll become muscle memory. :P
I do this already before posting but never thought of doing it before loading a new tab.

Error Code 15 doesn't want me to post the answer I PM'd you, so...

Yes, can be done technically. Good idea! lol

Use your computer mouse ... as easy as it is. ;)

Whenever I am responding to a thread with a long post, I too enjoy adding the contents to Microsoft Word just to save it. Furthermore, although I'm already able to proofread it on Google Chrome, I double check it in Microsoft Word too. On top of that, even before I hit the "Post" button, I click on "Preview" because I like to see how my paragraphs would look before I add them to a thread.

If you get used to clicking "Preview" before finally hitting "Post", then you will not lose its contents if you accidentally hit CTRL + R. Additionally, you are shown a "Confirm Form Resubmission" warning if you hit CTRL + R or F5, buttons that automatically refresh the page that you are currently on. Basically, try to get used to clicking on "Preview" to see how your post would look on the thread and you will never again lose the post if you accidentally hit CTRL + R.

Nice one thanks, I might start using preview more whenever a reply calls for a CTRL T :P

Depending on your web browser is the back button an option? I know vivaldi cache's my posts. So if a mishaps occurs I can back button and retrieve it without rewriting it.

Thanks!! :) I went and tried, sadly didn't work in Chrome, but it gave me another idea. If I accidentally click backwards, I can jump forwards (back to the draft) and it remains intact. Good to know.
