Jagex accounts causing an influx of emails is by design compared to RuneScape accounts.
One of the concerns players had with the old system was that there was no notification sent if an unauthorized party accessed their account. Such an email would allow them to jump to action sooner to secure their account, vs not knowing could mean that the hijacker is able to wait out the bank pin recovery time and get to all of your hard earned items.
With that in mind, once your Jagex Account is set up you really shouldn't be getting that many emails, since:
- The Jagex Launcher was designed to remember your account information. As long as you open the launcher regularly, it should keep you logged in. Since I switched over to a Jagex account, I've only had to re-log into the launcher once when the launcher updated (and from memory, that was due to a specific change in the launcher, as login sessions are supposed to be retained when it is updated).
- If you log into the website, always log in from the homepage (as Tuffty mentioned). That seems to only ask me to reauthenticate every 2 weeks or so.
- You can use MFA via authenticator app as we could with RuneScape accounts. Since I use that option, the only email I get is stating I had a successful login, rather than getting a verification code in my email to use for login since the code for login comes from my phone.
Things will be different of course if you're using a shared PC where you log out of the launcher entirely after you are done playing. Remember though, at the end of the day, this system is providing additional security we didn't have before to better protect your RuneScape characters, even if it comes at the expense of a few additional emails here and there letting you know what actions have been taken on your account.
