how long does the forum take to update the history of forum posters?

does every post get added to your history?

i have noticed some history missing in the time stamps of regular forum members

every post is time stamped and i see certain posts not listed where it should be but i can go to the thread look at the time stamp of the post then check their history and its not there

also noticed certain forums are never recorded in peoples history's

forum glitching??

this is probably better suited for the forum "website and forum" not general as this is about the forum.

i would assume it does get added but there are many forums that arent available for everyone and some have to be logged into to see which probably effects it.

Moved your thread over to Website and Forums.

A user's forum profile is updated in real time, with post count and the recent thread history of any threads created or replies made on other user's threads.

Aside from Tenebri making reference to how there could be hidden forums (Clan Leaders, High Level forum etc) that would increase a person's post count but not show to you in the post history unless you also had access to that given forum, there are instances (for whatever reason) where you could make a post or thread and it not show in your history when it should.

As far as I'm aware it's an intermittent issue but others may have spotted a pattern with that issue which I'm not aware of.

You can only see where the forumer posts depending on your access permission. Just like Joel explained above, if you have no access to a specialized forum - you cannot see the posts made by PlayerX who has access there.

to both mods,,

i am not talking about hidden forums

i understand there are forums some of us cant go to due to not achieving the level required
( example ...high level forum yada yada yada)

i am talking about open forums that any one can go into that is a member ,,,

for example in rants if i click into a thread and a member posts a comment and i look at the time stamp,,, then i go to their history,,, at the place according to their time stamp the post is not listed,, at all as though it was never created how ever as i said its there in the original thread

my question is why is this happening if its not a glitch,,,

The position on a profile that a thread is listed in is based on the first time that they have posted on that thread.

For example - when I post on this thread, it will appear at the top of my profile as it is the most recent thing I have posted on.

However, if I go and post on something that I have already posted on in the past (a forum chat lounge thread for example), the thread does not get pushed back to the top of my profile when I post on it again - instead, it will retain its current position on the profile until my profile fills up entirely, at which point it will be bumped off and will appear at the top again the next time I post on it.

The only 'glitch' with profiles that I know of is that sometimes the very first thread that someone posts on isn't visible on a profile - but that's the only exception that I've seen, and that has been around for a few years now.
