Hello my suggestion and or question is why we can not delete our own created threads, or even edit the names of these threads we post. Did a quick search and did not see anyone else with this topic so please if there is direct me to that one.

-What would be so bad if the creator could delete/modify (name not body) the post they made?

-Is there a way of getting them removed? If so how/where?

short and sweet, if anyone else has thought this please reply with your support!

The short and straight answer I can give you is due to 'legacy'.

You are facing the limitations imposed by the RSOF forum software which was internally developed by Jagex since 2002/2003 timeframe. That legacy code, which is proprietary forum software has been maintained as we speak.

There were numerous threads in this W&F section proposing for an adaptation of a new forum software, either from 3rd party sources or internally developed by Jagex which will unlock standard forum features for users.

Until such time happens, we're basically stuck with the current legacy forum software that we have here. From time-to-time, Jagex spends some manpower to update RSOF underlying forum software, which added font color, image embedding and QFC hyperlinking. But such update requires a lot of man hours, as Jmods are dealing with legacy spaghetti code. IMHO, I don't think the Jmods who originally developed the RSOF legacy forum in 2002/2003 are still working for Jagex today.

Hello DaKalic, as long as your thread "is open" up and running you are allowed to make changes to its title or its content of "your posts" as long as it is done within the rules. Abuse will be actioned accordingly by FMods. Thread titles can be changed by request in Forum Help V2 executed by FMods.
However, once a thread is "locked" all content falls under the ownership of Jagex. Everything we do in RuneScape & The RSOF falls under the ownership of Jagex and nothing can be done about it as you can read in Terms & Conditions written underneath every webpage.
So once a thread is "locked" it remains "locked" there is no ability to have it deleted in any kind of way ... unless ...
All threads "locked or open" will disappear off The RSOF after the end of page 50 of a Forum if you decide to do nothing and let threads ease off to the end of page 50. We will no longer see it in public, Jagex may have ways to still look into those threads.
Sometimes it may be beneficial for Jagex/JMods, in cases of disrupt, that they have archived content of threads to complete their investigation and find any leads that lead them to a justified solution.

So I hope you understand that us players erasing and editing content randomly is a "no-go area" because some people would find it handy to abuse it against other members of The RuneScape Community for their own benefits.

I don't know if I'd support giving users the ability to "delete" anything, or even to lock their own threads - reason being is the purpose of a forum is to have discussions, not post some content and lock it so nobody else can add to it.

What I do think would be a good compromise for this would be a "close" feature. It would differ from a lock in that only the creator of a thread could "close" it, but it would not be locked. Instead, a closed thread would have the title automatically edited to include "[Closed]" and additional replies would not bump the topic, which means that the OP is no longer interested in replies, so discussion could continue but the thread would naturally fall off the forums after page 50.

Of course moderators could un-close the thread and allow replies to bump the topic again, but the "close" feature should only be able to be used one-time.

All of these suggestions would require some forum work though, as
Louiellen
has already mentioned above.

i have idea where else to post this so move it as you wish but who do i talk to about seeing if one of my forum posts was deleted?
Forum Help V2 ... this is the place where you might post a question if you do believe that one of your posts has been deleted/hidden but most of the time you will find an answer in the thread where said post was posted. :)
