I'm randomly trolling browsing through the forums, and suddenly a wild security check appears!

So I slide the stupid puzzle piece over the piece-shaped hole and release the mouse button. The thing says something unintelligible in green text for literally .7 seconds, then "Success!".

I'm promptly redirected to the login screen. :|

Cool. Security stops me, demands my ID papers, and then, satisfied that I am in fact Emperor Sheev Palpatine not a bot, they escort me off the property.

Humph.

Am I being detained? Am I free to leave? No, under what law? Huh, no crime committed you say? Ok then no ID!

On a more serious note that, not sure I've had the slider thing happen to me in the way you describe. It's happened when I've tried to login yes. I'll keep more of an eye out for odd behaviour in relation to it though.
