I would like to suggest a forum feature- which is simply to add the ability to react to posts on the forums, for example; Like, heart and other different but positive emojis. My suggestion is not to have negative emojis so that we keep the forums a nice place to visit.

I think this would be a neat thing to have, to respond to people's posts and show them positive feedback that you might agree what they said and give the author some appreciation in return.

just read this thread: 278-279-961-66222452

Starting to play regularly at the beginning of 2006 initially I just did quests and levelled skills depending on what quest i wanted to do. Then I decided to focus on levelling combat skills specifically melee this was due to my fondness of Castle Wars. so by the end of 2008 I had 99 attack, strength, defence,hp and magic

I also needed a source of GP to upgrade my armour and weapons and RuneCrafting was decent so I worked on that as well, getting 99 in summer 2009. that was around 32k xp/hr and 1m+gp not bad for the time really.

I had all skills to at least 70 and a total level of 2000 in July 2009

for the next few years I spent most of my time playing castle wars with occasional rcing and general skilling. I was also very active in a clan helping to run daily events which took a chunk of time. These were good times when we'd think nothing of going to any minigame for a couple of hours

Eventually EOC hit which took my main source of pleasure away so I then decided I would finally max while still helping with the clan of course. I completed this goal december 2014.

So what motivated me changed as the years went by. Intially it was to improve my character to be better at CW then it became more about acheiveign a long term goal.

After doing skills in the past at 30k/hr when I finished the rest of them in 2014 with rates far in excess of that I didn't complain at all.

Now I'm motivated to keep pushing myself to do more pvm.

No support.

If we're going to have "positive" reactions, we need to have "negative" ones as well as it only makes sense.

I mean what if ppl dont agree with what someone says, why would someone give that person an upvote or w/e?

Either way we dont need any of this for the reasons stated in the above thread.

It works for twitter though. If you like or agree with something you retweet it, if you dislike or disagree with it you reply to it.

But overall I don't really see a need for this feature.

Ok but why must ppl who disagree be forced to type out why when ppl who agree dont have to?

That makes 0 sense.

If you agree, the least you can do is explain why considering disagreeing you do.

Reactions to forum posts should result in giving '
feedback
' so responses should reflect/contain feedback where others could benefit from giving more feedback or better understanding about a discussion at hand.

All these examples of 'rubbish/spam' are used by people who don't like to give feedback but play a tacticle game of how to forward or dismiss other feedback in their own benefit or that of others, other people who wanna stay undiscovered but like to influence Jagex's/JMods decisions or progress.

Exactly.

I mean the forums are meant to be a place of discussion after all and this isnt adding anything for discussion.

I respect the idea but I think the forums are more of a converse / debate area, and reactions to posts may bring out another type of vibe. It just feels more authentic without reactions.

Maybe allow mods / content creators to create reactions to threads, so the players can see where their heads are at? :O

Again reactions aren't bad but it's hard to see reactions to posts being implemented when we still don't have the ability to create polls for threads yet.
