For a few days, players are likely to meet a new way of logging-in & logging out of Website & Forums.
It is a new way of detecting who is communicating with Jagex’s servers regardless of being in RuneScape or not.

The way I do logging in into Website & Forums …

opening RuneScape …

using RuneScape Authenticator …

Into The Lobby, selecting a link to Website …

Which opens a browser screen so I can select Forums in Community …



However, due to certain circumstances, it is possible that you won’t pass through at once, logging in, as described above, and do need to pass a security feature first before getting into the Website.


Being in The Lobby, selecting a link to Website having to meet this security feature first …



Carry out instructions, before logging in …

Logging out the same security feature takes place to make sure what is communicating with Jagex’s servers.


clicking “log out” in The RSOF results into …

It is possible that some of you have slightly different experiences but altogether it is a new way to keep a secure eye to what does happen in RuneScape / Jagex’s Website & The RSOF.

You still can log in into The RSOF the "Old Fashion Way" just going to Jagex's Website selecting "Forums" in "Community" and afterwards select 'Log in".

However, there's also a new option to log in with your Apple ID.

Apparently logging in with my Apple ID I stumbled into a few issues ...



after that being fixed I stumbled into the next one ...



there is no transfer/connection of my Apple ID & RS-Character.
So now I am an 'Invalid Character' ... LOL. :P :P :P

I too have noticed something odd about logging in, apart from that new jigsaw puzzle thing.
I go to log in and - just for a moment or two (only once has it been longer) - i get a white screen saying something like "Please wait, something about your browsing makes us think youre a bot. Blah blah blah - you navigated through it with superhuman speed'.
Have only ever noticed it here on runescape website, when im logging in.
Windows fills in my username and password for me.
So maybe that is what triggers it?
Am not 100% sure it is runescape only either.

@Stoat King, although automated programs are handy, filling in username and password, the response time of these programs supersedes human interaction thus triggering the white screen-response you got.

If players use that to their advantage as for logging in & - out fast, in RuneScape, I do understand players will hit that brick wall stopping them with "too many log in attempts".

After all, Jagex still hopes that we all are human and not come close to what computer programs only can do.

Thanks for all the people at Jagex/Apple who went above and beyond, even further than that, to fix the issue I have gotten myself into although I am not sure what did trigger it?
Probably the Apple ID wrong attempt to login and this morning another attempt to do it right maybe started the whole drama for me but you people out there pulled it off, many many kudos to you. :) :) :D :D

The sad part, I thought it was fixed but I just found out that any mistake made is impossible to be corrected at Jagex's side. O_o



I cannot remove anything as that's up to Jagex. Your move. :)
