Just a suggestion for Jagex to please give us the option to receive more frequent email updates about the game. It can be an optional thing - people who enjoy the current level of communication could keep it as-is. But it would be a very valuable and useful feature for those of us who want to be informed about events before they are happening.
I know I am in the minority here. I have been a Member for years, my account is 20 years old. I "should know better" and "check the website and social media accounts frequently". But the reality is, between work, school and family obligations, I just don't have the time to be checking everything constantly. Many days I don't even have a chance to log on to anything for entertainment purposes. I have to balance all this and try to find some time here and there to play a game or watch a movie, and Runescape isn't typically at the top of my priority list. But I do enjoy participating in the time limited events and I was *extremely* close to finishing this stupid Golden Cape before the event ended.
Long story short... it was rather obnoxious to find out that the event had been re-opened for one weekend two weeks after the fact. Being able to receive more regular email updates (and updates that aren't sent out halfway through an event...) would be fantastic for helping avoid situations like that.
Alternatively the sad reality is probably I need to just move on from the game. Getting old sucks.
