If you access the website from Brazil, you can't easily switch the language.
It's been like this for years, but the website stays in English so that's not a problem for me.
Today I wanted to change the language to German and I remembered the problem exists.
I always thought it was just a matter of time before someone could fix it. But after all these years it still exists.


There's a sign, saying that this game is not recommended to people under 12.
So when you try to open the little language menu, it just doesn't fit on its place and it moves down.
When it moves down, the cursor is not over the menu anymore. So the menu tries to close again, moving to the normal position and it goes down again. Since it keeps switching position multiple times a second, it stays open, because it doesn't have enough time to fully close, allowing the user to try to click on the right flag.


The user can select a language by editing the url, l=1 for german 2 for french and 3 for portuguese and 0 for English.
Another way to change the language is just keep clicking on the flag really fast. Since the menu keeps moving up and down, but it stays open, you can still see the flags. But you need to click on the flag between 10-30 times to hit it.


I get this bug in multiple devices, browsers and operating systems.

What Internet browser are you currently utilizing? Right now, I am on Google Chrome and I was not able to locate the warning regarding users under the age of 12. I went to every language available on the website and I could not find it. Here's a picture of the Portuguese section of the website:



I also used the Google Chrome Incognito form since it disables all the add-ons and I still was not able to see the sign.

This message only shows up in Brazil, and it's been like that since Runescape was officially launched in Brazil. I think if you're not in Brazil, the only way to see this message is to use a VPN. Thankfully, this issue has been fixed. I don't know when it was fixed, probably in the last 8 months. The annoying warning still shows up, but the bug has been fixed.

It had been like that for years, even on mobile. I've been using firefox, but the issue happened in chromium-based browsers, including google chrome, opera and brave.

This is a known bug. It was reported several times by both players and PT BR Localization Team, however the answer we had is that because it is an error that only happens to PT BR Community players, they cannot reproduce the problem and fix it. Also,t is something that is not that big, the error ended up getting in a low priority to fix, since there are many other problems to solve on the site/forum and theres not many resources.
