So thing is that the forum is an absolute shambles for [current year].
Quick find code is nice for linking up another player. But should not be the best way of searching for a thread/topic.
So I'm proposing that the best place to reform this would be the trading post boards.
This is because they are usually well defined thread topics, given it's for a specific item most cases.
The addition of selecting the item when making a thread will go a long way into improving usability, and new user ease of entry.
I would also like that in addition there be added a tag for quantity range and price range to aid in sorting the volume of threads that'd arise with that.
Now prices I know for many sellers and buyers in some cases can be a touchy subject in public.
So I'd advise these be ranges, not GP accurate asking prices.
This allows for more confidence in both new sellers. To be able to adapt to price fluctuation, without running risk of reputation damage.
But importantly to buyers. So that they have the ability of making offers and to engage in the market in a meaningful manor.
For such Items that are available through the GE. I'd highly recommend that the 6 month GE record be presented in the Heading of the Item.
For both transparency, and ease on server loads should player usage increase of the forums.
In the market boards, there are several perpetual threads.
I'd like to see they are given a sub board, and given a toggle so that user accounts can bookmark them.
Very under utilized are the user accounts. Been more so treated as just a signature cookie.
User accounts would benefit greatly from having their own thread highlighting to the public.
Such as user created topics. Or a short list of other Buy/sell requests.
But i wouldn't flirt with any sort of reputation metrics.
All systems that are given any sort of pseudo certification user credential are typically either abused.
Or subject to common denominator and herd mentality. Baby out with the bath. In the membrane.
