I just got hard wired up to the router. oddly enough when I
had wireless in this house I'm at now, they have 2 connections a 2.4ghz connection and a 5ghz connection... the 2.4 being for further ranged people. and the 5 for closer... my question is.. when I hard wired it.. it hooks me up the 2.4, which is stupid I feel like I'm missing out on fast internet how do I get it to the 5 ghz

5GHz is the frequency on which your WiFi transmitts, nothing to do with speeds when connected via ethernet.
