The rapper Tupac died 20 years ago and he is worshiped today as one of the greatest rappers of all time, even though in the 1990s he was considered mediocre at best

People seem to appreciate things way more when they're no longer around. Its kind of like paintings by a famous artist. Once the artist dies, his paintings skyrocket in value.
