There are a fair amount of damage-dealing cards that ignore armor, frequently seen in play - learn which ignore armor & which don't. I think of Ring of Recoil is one of them? Only ever saw it played on phase 1.
Vanescula is able to risk getting low health from fighting very rewarding monster cards early on as her cards with the *mortal* buff allow for absurdly powerful comebacks ( big damage and big heals). Your best chance at beating her is earlier on than later, I found.
Linza decks seem to only work if you don't get unlucky with your draws. She can ramp up weapon power and then toss her weapon for a ko. I tried having a Linza deck that mixed both weapon attack buffs and weapon durability buffs equally and I think that may have actually hindered me. Try to focus more-so on one or the other than both to get a good weapon toss off.
Ozan decks are popular among the pay2win players, and always expect to see at least one skeletal champion - followed up by a snap shot.
Ariane decks are the most powerful starter decks - take your free shots at your opponent with thrower trolls and scorpions while building up your coin stack and hand's card count until you can unleash some Earth Blast cards for cheap kills. Earth Blast is the most broken card I've encountered in any card game ever.
The Kyzaj Tournament card and cards that reduce your base attack by 1 are common cards among the pay2win sect. Keep a few things in your decks that help keep your base attack up since losing just 1 base attack leaves you unable to farm monster cards without the monsters being what kills you.
I made it to Rank 1 Silver but couldn't get the 3 consecutive wins required to break into the Gold rankings. Best of luck to you if you also try a free2play approach.
Use sara brews instead of pies for heals since the brews come with card draw. I saw too many new players make the mistake of picking pies instead of brews. The rival-discards-1-card pirate is good too.
