Hello guys and girls,

I have stumbles upon two riddles and I was wondering whether anyone of you have any clues or ideas that could help solving them. Note, the clues below are the only ones that were given to me.

The first one:
"What links Christopher from Swindon, Lisbeth from Stockholm and an Austrian academic from Vienna?"

The second one:
"Solve the puzzle: I was only eleven when I travelled to Italy. My beauty mesmerized one of the greatest literary masters. He wrote a novella about me, but I learned about this fact only after having seen a film based on the novella. Who am I? Who is he?"

I thank you in advance, and I would be grateful for any kind of help. :)

Tunnels?

The Øresund (technically a bridge and a tunnel) and The Channel Tunnel link Swindon, Stockholm and Vienna.

The only thing that comes to mind when it comes to movies based on Italian books about 11 year old girls is Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. Probably wrong (I hope I'm wrong) but other than that, I'm coming up blank.

Edit: Andrej, I hope you post the answers when you find out what they are :)

So, today I got the correct answers and here they are.

Christopher and Lisbeth both have Asperger's syndrome, as described in books The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. And the Austrian academic is non other than Hans Asperger, the doctor by whom the illness is named.

The person in the second question is actually a male, more accurately Wladyslaw Moes and the writer is Thomas Mann, who wrote a story called "Death in Venice", which was inspired by Gillbert Adair.

Thanks again for your contribution. :)
