Comp cape used to have more of a theme of trying all content, not completing/mastering it. While trim was the completion cape. The music requirement has always been great: you don't have to beat Vorago, but you do have to go visit him. But ever since Reaper, the rift between pvmers and rounded players has become an ever increasing disparity as you either need to buy kills or grind something you don't like for dozens of hours with other people just attempting to get it back.

Solak has just made this more visible than ever. I fortunately haven't chased comp in years and Solak doesn't affect me directly, but when I see them take 3 extra months (or whatever) on something so few people are going to do and even less are going to enjoy: I feel my gameplay could've been better had they invested that time more wisely.

I miss the days when maxed players just wore regular cloths and were happy to just enjoying the game. I also miss the days when people trained skills to unlock quests and other material. People now just train for experience. Which means nothing other than a rank on high scores. I actually trained a skill to 200mil to have a skill permanently ranked under 1k. That could change in the future if they make skills pass 200mil.

Think this boss would of been more fun if they allowed doing a mass. Like was done with the older bosses before Comp came out.

Largely agree, except for the part about doing stuff you don't like. I think with capes like Comp, MQC or Comp (t) everyone is going to have to grind something they don't like.

I would like to see the group content removed from Comp along with associated music tracks. This would end a lot of this ongoing debate (which is literally years and years old) and help move the game forward.

I personally think all the capes after Max need looking at. The word "completionist" needs to disappear from cape names. It does more harm than good. I had a thread prepared with suggestions for a way forward but have been persuaded by a friend not to post. They are concerned at the toxic nature of some foumers obscuring the points made and stifling the debate with flaming rather than working together for a solution.

I have been away from RS for several years, but if my friend is right and that is how the community is now then I despair. There will never be a way forward or any improvements if that is the case.

The comp and trim capes concepts make little to no sense as they are now. This is especially true with the the Solak update in that Solak is equivilant to Telos at 1000% enrage in either 7 man or duo yet killing him is a normal comp cape requirement.

I'm sorry but if that's the case then why the fuck is 'kill telos at 100% enrage' a TRIMMED completionist cape requirement?

A feat that is considered TEN TIMES less difficult is on the trim comp while normal comp gets the hardest pvm req???

I know technically the req is on both capes since u need normal comp for trim but wouldn't it make a hell of a lot more sense to have defeating the hardest boss be on the trim comp and not the normal one? or at least have something from solak beyond just a kill be a trim req?

I agree with captkoloth tho comp/trim really has gotten out of hand and the entire controversy is because comp is BIS cape. If comp/trim were both purely cosmetic then there wouldn't be so much drama over this.
