Golden cape shard event ended?

The cape counter says 18 hours until event ends, but Nic the shady merchant in the grand exchange is saying that the event is already over...meaning you can't purchase the golden cape shard from him. What is going on? Was event ended 18 hours early? Is this a glitch? I am so frustrated

Believe that was a glitch. Event ends in 35 mins from this post. However I haven't gotten any shards in last 24 hours and I know several other people in the same situation. Who knows..
