Jagex,

What is that? You waited until more than 2,100 people earned 200m xp in Necromancy, then you decided the xp for Ritual 'random' events was too much?

Really, at no point along that first day, the rate of xp wasn't noticed to be too high?

Tell me now. Will you be congratulating the people (teams) that get 99, 120 & 200m the fastest with the new xp rates?

note: In the future, if you want to congratulate an individual account, I suggest you not tell people items to stock up on. When the event/skill is brought out, everything related to that skill is made non-tradeable for the first month. That will tell us who is the fastest person getting xp.

allowing teams to provide one account the raw materials needed for speed, just tells us who has the most money.

I remember back during the initial months of Dungeoneering, they actually reset people because their experience rates for RC were insane doing RC in Dungeons. Plus they also banned people, after the release of Warped Floors, because their experience rates were insane. The banning of those accounts were eventually reversed.

The point is that it is ok for somebody to get 200mil in a new skill, less than a week now. Once the leaders hit 200mil, the skill finally gets nerfed. Is this fair? No A skill should not have so many with 200mil experience in a new skill. It says things were setup totally wrong. Why is it ok now? Wasn't in 2010.

I got 99 few hours before the change. :P

To be fair I'm still getting very much the same amount of exp an hour as I was before the nurff.

I'm going for 200m. Just may take a little while longer then first planned as I don't intend to camp it 24/7. I'll be taking my sweet time about it lol.

PS. Also got the pet at 5.5m exp. ;)

It would be nice if all accounts that existed pre-nerf were grandfathered in to the original experience rates. Only newly created accounts post-nerf would be "blessed" with the lower xp rates.

I'm not sure how much xp nerf was made, but for fun let's say it was 50% like they had originally suggested (I know it wasn't). If they did that, then they should also reduce everyone's xp in the skill by the same amount. That would set everyone with 200m xp down to 100m xp, and their race to the top is back on using the new nerfed rates. Jagex may as well piss off the entire community rather than excluding those with 200m who no longer care about any changes.

EDIT: ADDITIONAL: Thanks for "cursing" me Tuffty, I just got the pet at 2.38m xp!

To be honest, the players who gained 200mil exp with the original settings should be totally reset to level 1 to be consistent to how the game should be played. No way it is right for people to obtain such experience rates in a new skill as what happened with Necromancy. The game has turned too much into pay to win. There is no integrity anymore. The beginning of this integrity loss was when they decided to continue with 120 skills. Created Elf City to make experience rates easier. Game became a joke. Yes, Dungeoneering was the first 120 skill. Just because one skill was 120. Does not mean they all should have those levels. Things have been way unbalanced since that time.

To be fair, I don't think the ones who got high xp before the reset should be set to zero but they should be removed from the high scores. No-one now has the chance to hit the fastest because of the nerf - how is that fair?

And Jagex wonder why they can't get and keep new players - perhaps they should look at the way they manage their game to see why new players have a go and then decide that it's not for them.

I'm sure someone will tell me that I'm wrong and I obviously don't know every new player but I can tell you my experience of introducing new people to the game and they just don't want to know. The first few days is exciting, then they realise that they'll never get the xp or gp of older players (phats are a case in point!), that players who want to skill are forever treated like second class citizens, and being forced into pvming is par for the course, so they don't even bother get to the stage of becoming members.

It was so different when I started playing - even though it took me ages to build up any gp reserves (I actually had to budget to buy buckets LOL) - it was exciting to play, goals were achievable, and we were all on a level playing field.

Jagex have lost their way in my opinion.

What made new skills fun was seeing how it effected the high score list. A lot of players, who were not even top players ended up with high ranks mainly because they were working hard on the new skill. It was weeks before the high score list settled down. With Necromancy it seemed the same people got on the top of the list and just remained there. Because they got maxed experience within a few days. Because they basically just bought the skill.
