Absolutely fantastic strategy. Make f2p playable for 1 week max before chipping away inventory space. Invokes goodwill in me and makes me really want to support their company...
Just now bought 3x8 different dhides for the zodiac event:

The event will likely also give me items claimable only in members which is another huge plus. Just 10 more till game is 100% unplayable. I can still powermine, spin lucky luckies from treasure spinner and use the GE. Jabed should definitely do something about that considering TH is 99% of the game these days.
