Need Help to download game

New PC. It won't download the game since it says it needs "directx".
It then says 'error 404' can't find direct x
Microsoft site says its no longer available. Nothing will download.

If anyone knows how to help me I'd appreciate it very much. I need precise directions since I have Lev 3 Comp(rehension) skill.

Ok. fixed.

You have to download STEAM, create a Steam Account, from there, download Runescape free play.
Then you can delete Steam and go to Runescape and download the game.

Apparently, DirectX will be installed with the Steam version of RS and won't delete when you uninstall Steam.

Voila !!! A new way to get traffic flowing to STEAM.
