G'day All,

I am sure most of you are familiar with the Alt1 apps. They do help with some tasks & they appear to currently be within the rules of the game.

Consider the following: The AfkWarden has a "toilet" mode. This transmits the AFK meter details to a web site that you can use to watch while AFK. Try it in Chrome. It also transmits an image of your game screen including a marker indicating the position of your mouse.

If this tool is misused then your bank PIN can be observed.

If it is sending your screen image then it would be easy to modify to send keyboard input, such as a password.

I so not suggest Alt1 currently is malware. I only suggest that it could be used in an undesirable manner & that it might be wise to use it with caution, stopping it during secure actions.

Oh interesting. I've not used any of the alt1 tools apart from the clue scroll part of it..

Been using it for years, no issues whatsoever.

Nothing is safe on the internet anymore, you just have to kind of accept that, really.

I doubt Skillbert would go rogue anyway, he's generally likable.

That being said, always try to make sure anything you download/links you click/emails you open/etc. are genuine.

Ive used it for years also, Ive yet to have an issue on this program.

With saying that tho, It doesnt mean its a trusted program, just be willing to loose stuff at the risk of using any non official program nowadays.

Interesting, I've used afk warden, but didn't see the toilet option. I guess it depends on how safe it is. Does it send the screen layout directly to the website or does the toolkit works as normally and only it's data is send to the website? The later one would be definitely safe, but I don't even know if that would be possible.

Some unknown (to me) that created it, yes he could use it maliciously. Your choice if you want to take a leap of faith and use it, i'm staying away from it.

Thought that it just observed whether you interacted with the client, not recording everything that you do on it. I'm sure that at some point he could have hacked or scammed people, but most of the HLC use it and I've never heard of any founded accusations, and Jagex have looked at it and said that it was safe.

Still, up to you. I use runelite on OSRS which I'm sure they could hack me at any moment with, but I don't want to give up the client.
