'You be the Judge' - Results
Hi everyone,
We've had quite a few requests posted up to find out about what went on in the 'You be the Judge' insider session so this thread has been created.
5 ideas were pitched at RuneFest. These ideas were each created from multiple player suggestions as many were along the same lines. To be clear, only one idea was selected for Content to look into making. The other ideas aren't being made!
So without further ado, the results:
- Altarless runecrafting training game - 27% - The winning idea!
- Custom-constructed Agility Course - 26%
- Player Owned Greenhouse - 16%
- Co-op statue building D&D - 11%
- Big Game Hunter hunting D&D - 9%
Altarless runecrafting training game:
The `Alterless runecrafting training game` would be a new skilling area. It wouldn’t require alters or the player running to and from the bank. It's a totally different way of training runecrafting which doesn’t make runes, it's purely for XP. Players would be getting a totally different way to train runecrafting that will scale all through the skill. The area would be huge and awesome.
Custom-constructed Agility Course:
It would be an area with a number of hot points that players could build custom agility obstacles on. Each obstacle built would set what routes could be taken across the course. There would be a number of different ‘random’ effects around the course, which need to be considered when building the obstacles. These random effects could change every so often, so the player would have to adapt their course.
The player would have to balance what they build where with what random effect is going on to provide the fastest route and gain the best xp rates. It uses a player’s Agility and Construction level as requirements to what can be built. If a player has the best route set it will provide the best agility xp in game, based for level 85 agility
Player Owned Greenhouse:
The POH greenhouse would allow players with 85+ construction and farming levels to store; fruit, vegetables, flowers, herbs, bush & tree seeds, and saplings. It could result in up to 4 new farming patches or 2 nursery patches, plus a compost bin in the house. The higher level the greenhouse and players skills, the more choice in the types of seed and sapling they could store, which would in turn free up bank space.
Co-op statue building D&D:
An artisan would appear in the centre of a city on a weekly basis, building a commemoration statue for a special event. He is just adding the finishing touches when a hoard of imps buzz in like locusts. They strip the statue and steal all the shinies.
The player’s job is to locate all the missing parts and return them to the artisan and help him rebuild the statue in time for the commemoration ceremony, for a reward in smithing, mining, construction and magic.
Big Game Hunter hunting D&D:
Each week players would be able to take on hunting tasks for new rare creatures which have started to make an appearance. These would be more dangerous and intelligent than current hunting creatures requiring new techniques to capture, not simply placing down a trap and waiting.
This would largely be a reward incentivised activity, with completing the hunt resulting in tokens exchangeable for rewards of the players choice, which could include XP, the ability to temporarily set up more traps at once and new pets among other things.
Feel free to post up your comments on these ideas and the results but remember, only the winning idea is being looked into!
