Greetings story fanatics, and welcome to this chronicle which details RuneScape Lore Week!
Firstly, lets begin by introducing you to the latest story in the RuneScape universe, which you can read by clicking this link:

This is an exciting, action packed tale which expands on the history of Daemonheim and ties in with the recent Fremennik Sagas to give you an enthralling new insight into some of our most popular plots and characters.

We also have a week long epic entourage of events planned for you which are detailed in this thread. These events celebrate the world that is RuneScape and all the magical characters, places and creatures which inhabit it. Not to mention the amazing storylines, plot twists and cliffhangers which have kept you on the edge of your computer chair seats for the last 10 years!

Character Naming Competition

As part of the week, we will be running a competition which allows YOU – the players, to decide the name of one of the central characters in Daemonheim Asunder - the mysterious Hobgoblin Geomancer!



We will be taking suggestions for the character's name on the Character Naming Competition forum thread. So get your creative thinking caps on, and post some awesome names which you would like the Geomancer to have on that thread.
We will then choose the best five, and from this a player voting poll will decide the winner. The player who creates the winning suggestion will forever go down in RuneScape history as creating a part of RuneScape legend, a pretty awesome claim to fame.
Not only this but they will get some exclusive RuneScape goodies signed by the author!

Q&A With the Writer of Daemonheim Asunder

This is your opportunity to pick the brains of the writer behind Daemonheim Asunder. And that person is me, Mod Scorpion

I'll be holding an open Q&A on Thursday 7th July at 16:00pm BST (forum time) where you can ask me anything from where inspiration for the characters came from, to how the story unfolded in my head, to where and when I did most of the research and writing for the project.

As a bonus the players who come up with the three best questions will get some RuneScape goodies signed by yours truly, so if you fancy getting your hands on some signed RuneScape merchandise now is your chance!

Guide To Creative Writing



To inspire your own characters and narratives in the world of RuneScape we will also be releasing a guide to creative writing for players.



This guide will be released on Saturday 9th July and will cover what we think are the most important things to consider when writing, as well as how to improve your style and develop your characters in a meaningful and believable way. We will also include some tips about how to get your story into the hands of people that can get your story out into the world as well as some pointers on what to avoid and look our for when designing characters and plots.

Behind the Scenes of Daemonheim Asunder

To finish off the week on Monday 11th July we will give an exclusive insight into the development behind Daemonheim Asunder, from it's conception to it's inclusion into the ongoing saga which is RuneScape.


This article will include every stage of development from start to finish including conceptualising, designing, editing and publishing to give you a behind the scenes look at how we produced this storyline here in the studio.
This will finish of the week in style!
