Welcome to the Order of Gems thread! This group is for magic roleplay centering around dark wizard hunting, archeology, and recovery of powerful magical artifacts. We will have weekly roleplay usually on Sundays, but sometimes on Saturdays. This group is meant to be kept relatively small so we might have a cap for how many people we accept, but as we grow this may change. If you wish to have cross group roleplay we would love that. Remember we are not mercenaries though and will do our best to stay clear of warring kingdoms and noble politics as much as we can on an in character level.

We will be using the FC: Khaji for this roleplay.

Now for our IC intro!

High up in a secluded mountainous area. Where Eagle's Peak and the Arandar mountains meet an old and forgotten fortress resides. The fortress was built in a large cave network of the mountain full of precious gems. The caves were originally discovered by a travelling group of mages and their spell sword guards in the 4th Age. What they discovered other than a massive reservoir of precious gems was that the gems themselves spoke as if sentient. What happened next is lost, but the Order of Gems was founded and the Glittering Fortress was built. While the order was eventually forgotten from history a new group of mages has been brought to the caves and the order reformed.

The Gemstone Council leads the order. Made up of magic users of great power and skill. The council at one point had ten seats, but betrayal and misfortune struck the council and now only five remain. The other five are left vacant as a lesson of what happens when the council becomes consumed by their egos and selfish desires.

The Gemstone Knights are the oath-sworn soldiers of the Order of Gems. They are descendants of the spell sword guards of the first council. Most of the current knights are veterans who were preserved in the magical amber catacombs and slept for over a century until the new council was formed. The knights are by no means master mages, but are quite capable of casting magic. They don enchanted equipment and go through rigorous training to protect and enact the will of the council.

The Gemstone Knights are fiercely loyal to the Council. They typically fight with attuned swords, glaives, and spears. They almost never fight with shields. They wear finely made hybrid armor. Some of the knights are trained into specialist roles to better serve the order and council.

Ranks:

Initiate - The first rank of the knights. These aspiring knights are trained into fine spell swords.

Knight - The bulk of the order. Full knights are typically capable of at least casting bolt level spells and are skilled fighters.

Champions - The first of the specialist ranks. The champions are the commanders of the knights and are far more skilled and deadly.

Seekers - The seekers hunt down many dark magi and traitors alike. They are deadly executioners.

Custodians - The custodians guard the relic vaults. Ever vigilant and usually sporting heavier armor.

Wardens - The fewest in number. The wardens personally guard the councilors and are typically the only ones allowed in the council chambers other than the councilors themselves.

The Fallen Gems are five powerful magic users who once sat on the gemstone council before betraying the order and killing the other councilors over a hundred years ago. They each stole precious relics and scattered throughout Gielinor. Should they discover the Order has been reformed they will likely seek to fight them again.

Former Coal Seat: Snorri
While not being a magic user during his time with the council Snorri used prayers and was a master potion maker. The curse of greed ate at the dwarf's heart over the years and eventually overcame his piousness. Finally using magic Snorri became a chaos dwarf at the fall and stole both the Bronzite Hammer and the Granite Bracers from the vaults. He is rumored to be somewhere on Karamja.

Former Jet Seat: Kyrie
Ky*ie was a former bio-alchemist. A talented woman who accomplished a lot. Kyrie was a mage who sought to learn the secrets of magic, and came to view tasks such as eating and sleeping, let alone conversing with the others to be a waste of her time. She fell to the temptations of necromancy. She stole the Primeval Pearl. Her current whereabouts are unknown to the order, but she resides in the only other base the order had though it was never completed.

Former Jade Seat: Ollie
Ollie was a master summoner who loved to sing. He had a longing to become a fire mage, but always failed to grasp the concept of fire magic. After the council denied him use of a relic to help him learn fire magic and a series of denied requests to use the order's resources to help his noble family during a peasant revolt Ollie went down a dark path. Eventually he stole the Ruby Flower and Jade Earrings relics. When the Fallen revealed their true colors he fought another councilor who used a relic which turned him into a giant ape. He fled and is currently on an island near Ape Atoll gathering an army of monkeys to invade the human lands.

Former Amber Seat: The Skinweaver
The Skinweaver's origins are a mystery. Supposedly the gems brought her to the order's fortress. She introduced herself as a divine skinweaver. She was a valuable asset to the council and nobody knows why she fell. The Skinweaver was responsible for the creation of the amber catacombs. Her whereabouts are unknown.

Former Turquoise Seat: Katsumi
The former turquoise seat was the greatest disaster to befall the order. A siren of considerable power. The ambitious Katsumi was naturally one of the greatest water magick users the order ever came across. Not only that, but her intoxicating voice was power much needed when she was put onto the council. A castaway banished from the Wushanko Isles Katsumi dedicated herself for years to the order. However the rewards were not enough. Growing jealous of other members of the order she plotted to take over the council. Using her siren gifts and mind magic she manipulated and poisoned the minds of four other council members. She drove them to madness and filled their hearts with hate. Then one day she gave them the final push and orchestrated the fall of the order. After the council was destroyed she led the fallen to plunder the vaults of the order. The mysterious entity that was the driving force of the order however acted quickly and began teleporting most of the relics collected over the years across Gielinor. Katsumi however got her hands on the Quartz Crown and the most precious artifact the Hydrix Heart. The fallen used the Hydrix Heart to increase their lifespans before being expelled from the fortress to separate areas of Gielinor. Katsumi went back east and was rumored to have aided the dreaded siren Quinn. After Quinns defeat and sensing the order's resurrection with the Quartz Crown she is headed back to the mainland of Gielinor.

Currently we are only accepting Gemstone Knight Apps. If you have a desire to make an antagonist for us pm Khaji in-game.

For the time being we are only allowing 2 knights to be played for each of the basic magical elements (air, fire, earth, water). There will also only be a single knight for each ancient element (blood, smoke, shadow, ice) however to play as a knight who uses ancient magic you will need to talk to me in game before you can be accepted.

The Order of Gems does not get too close to outside groups for fear that it would put the order's mission in jeopardy. The make many temporary alliances and try not to get on too many people's bad side, but the order as a whole is rather reclusive choosing to remain autonomous.
