Hello! Welcome to Haven Lost! What you see now is under construction, but this will soon become a semi-private hub operated by the player Khaji and myself. Once the details are ironed out, expect the town of Brimhaven to once again be in control of pirates with each ship captain able to contribute their share to the town as well. In addition to piracy, this group will aim to include shamanistic tribal societies, mainland colonists, and their respective land-scaled territories outside of the town, which will include hostile and friendly groups for the scurvy lads/lasses to either ally with or war against.

Realizing the constant bickering involved in creating these sort of groups, clans can decide amongst themselves whether they'd like to interact with this group, whether it be trading or partaking. We will aim to include an immersive, friendly, and flexible environment for players of all kinds to interact with. Please be patient whilst the landscape, factions, and administration, are all altered to suit this goal.

Welcome! Haven Lost operates as a semi-private group with freelance welcome in the main area of Brimhaven. We encourage roleplayers to use their characters within the bar, restaurant, and with the PoH portal nearby you can make your residence official.

No one is to police or press claims over anything in the area of the RP (Brimhaven and outer land-scaled tribal territories). Much to how Falador was once the player hub of the server with roleplayers of all kinds welcome to interact in it's main square, Brimhaven is to serve that very same purpose except to characters of all kinds traversing the Southern Sea, whether they be pirates, sailors, or even colonists.

Please keep in mind that we do not intend to police the area as Brimhaven is the most ideal place for a lawless pirate town. The semi-private idea of this group comes in the form of the plots we'll host around the island where inhabitants/visitors of Brimhaven can interact with the tribes and their respective shamans, warriors, or chiefs, etc. These plots are sort of exclusive, as there are elements of the roleplay included that require characters to be ignorant of the tribal society and low-leveled mages. Given the humility of the tribes, they are not over-powered, and so we'd ask that over-powered characters are toned down for the sake of keeping the tribal interactions important and relevant.

RULES

The rules are really only in place for players partaking in the private plots of Haven Lost. We don't particularly care what goes on around Brimhaven openly as it's meant to remain a hub for everyone.

In the event that you're new to the community or role-playing in RuneScape...

(Literally taken from the Runescape Wiki / Role-playing)

* No god-moding. God-moding is to take on an omnipotent role for a short while and describe a scenario which is unlikely or impossible, often to the god-moding player's advantage.

* No Metagaming. Metagaming is to use aspects of the gameplay and interface to learn things that a player should not know if they are role-playing properly. A common example of this is using the minimap to locate another player, using the camera angle to look through walls, reading something on the forums and making your character know something they didn't learn in-character or knowing someone's name by their username.

* No Overpowered (OP) characters unless first discussed and for plot purpose. Over-powering is to create a character that is inhumanly powerful or skilled so as to make him invincible, undefeatable, or surviving irrefutable events of death. However, keep in mind about character death that it is never enforced and one should be able to choose whether the life of their character ends.

* No Auto-hitting. Auto-hitting is when someone attacks another role-player without giving the other player a say in what happens.

* No Powerplaying. Powerplaying is when a player assumes control of something which is out of their control, such as deciding another character's actions or deciding the weather (unless stated Game Master).

* Be cautious of Lorebreaking. Lorebreaking is when a character goes against something which is solid and concrete in RuneScape which defines their race or character background.

THE PIRATE CODE

The Pirate Code has been established as a guide more than a justice system. Those who follow the code are honored or revered, not obligated. As Brimhaven is meant to be lawless, this isn't meant to be policed, but to provide an atmosphere to the piratical world.

I. Every captain has a vote in affairs of moment; with every man having equal title to the fresh provisions, or strong liquors, at any time seized, and may use them at pleasure, unless a scarcity makes it necessary, for the good of all, to vote a retrenchment.

II. All captain's are expected to pay tribute to the funds of Brimhaven in order to keep the pub and restaurant open and well stocked.

III. Captain's are expected to exercise control over their crew to prevent the destruction of our sacred haven.

IV. No man shall barter with mainland governments in which the sanctity of our Brimhaven is at risk of annexation, lest there be a vote amongst all captain's to negotiate in fair business with said governments.

V. To ensure the safety of the Peoples of Brimhaven, all contact with the outlying Karamjan tribes is to remain peaceful, unless due harm is committed by the savages which would constitute retaliation from Brimhaven.

VI. The populace are encouraged to refrain from attracting unwanted attention to the island from outside influences such as missionaries or potential conquistadors.

VII. An honor system shall be influenced upon each person by which the prizes or loot they acquire and contribute to the well-being of the island and our care.

KARAMJAN CUSTOMS & CULTURES

Karamja is home to many different peoples. Many tribes reside within the jungles as well as races. Jogre, hobgoblin, and goblin tribes are found deep in the jungles. They often build their homes over ancient ruins of the past. These jungle dwelling Bandosians are also unlike many of their kin. They have a certain cunning to them and their beliefs are a twisted mix of some of the native human's and their old Bandosian ways. The jungle bandosians believe Bandos to still be alive and even more powerful. That he is freed from his body and his spirit is still around. The witch doctors and shamans of these tribes incorporate the native broodoo practices into their Bandosian magicks.

The tribes of the heart of Karamja are many. To write off the majority of Karamjans as savages or primitive can lead to one's undoing. While there are many savage tribes there are a few that are a serious threat to the colonies that are trying to take over Karamja. Some of the greatest settlements in Karamja include the mighty Shilo Village and the Tai Bwo Wannai village. These tribes however are peaceful and will normally not attack unprovoked and will in fact trade. Be warned though even with the sophisticated mages of mainland Gielinor, the Witch Doctors and Shamans of Karamja are true terrors on the battlefield.

To the far south of the sub-continent lies the Kharazi jungle and the tribes in these lands are especially hostile. No colony has been successfully built in the Kharazi jungle area. While the hostile locals are one problem, demons are another. There are rumors of Jungle demons in the Kharazi area. The northern Karamjans say these demons are trapped in the Kharazi Jungle and implore we do not cut down the jungle leading into the Kharazi territory.

Perhaps the most strange of things to be discovered on Karamja is perhaps the broodoo witch doctors and the shamans of this land. The Karamjan's lack proper mages, but instead have their own magic users. From what the Wizard's Tower has learned is that the broodoo witch doctors are extremely powerful and dangerous in the right circumstances. Through ritual sacrifice and other savage techniques do the witch doctors gather power to hex, curse, summon, and cast wards.

The Karamjan's exile what they consider to be evil. These witch doctors are especially dangerous and summon the dead. The shamans of the land are far less dark however. They draw power from the elements and land. They slowly cast powerful elemental magic. They manipulate the land and summon elementals. What's more is that these elementals are not even from the spirit plane! These shamans are however rarer to come by than the witch doctors as the witch doctors have slowly been replacing them it seems. However some chieftains claim that the shamans are more powerful than the witch doctors.
