Do you think you can save them W42? My tendrils are spreading throughout all of your "Player Owned Kingdoms" and you are too toxic and divided to stop it. And this is Xau Tak.

Varrock in Quarantine

For the next few weeks leading up to Easter, myself and the other admins will be making ourselves available (whenever we can) for rp events and freelance in the lower districts of Varrock to represent the real grand opening of Misthalin's main plotline (which may go global eventually, we shall see).

My hope is that in the spirit of some of the cooperative threads that have been made recently we can as a community, come together to create a plotline of unprecedented scope and scale (failing that we'll make do with what we get and try to have fun doing it).

I will personally be hanging around Varrock during this period, available for rp at any time (so please don't leave me bored stiff) "The greatest endeavors are achieved because of their selfless intent"

- The Black Arm Gang has been revealed to be behind the distribution of black stones that caused the plague. No matter what stands in your way, mobsters, abominations or freelance criminals, you will go to the Black Arm Gang HQ and drag Rickard Valence into the light to answer for his actions!

- 14/04/19 - 8PM
- As the situation in the quarantine zone gets worse, some hoping to escape the area have in desperation decided to attempt an all out assault to break though the perimeter. Play as a half deranged citizen or a guard.

If you want to run an event of your own no need to post an application, just post explaining when it is, where and what is happening and we'll put it up here.

The Story So Far

- At the coronation of King James II, the king is approach by a strange madman claiming to represent an entity called "Xau Tak". He warns that he is the only route to salvation for Misthalin and the rest of the world. The King is later advised that no such being exists and that the man is crazy.

- Several weeks later reports start coming in about some citizens succumbing to a strange illness. Some of the stories regarding the symptoms are deeply disturbing but dismissed as implausible.

- One evening at the Blue Moon Inn a man collapses at the bar only to rise as an abomination, obscured by thick black smoke and with powerful hands made of black stone. Unable to kill it the patrons teleport the creature away to the trollheim mountains. Afterwards the landlord of the pub begins acting strangely.

- Evidence of the attack on the bar is presented to the King. Horrified he orders that the affected districts of the city be placed under quarantine to prevent the plague spreading any further.

- A very, very strange mage approaches the palace offering assistance with the plague. Eager to remove this curse on the city the king welcomes him in, ignoring his deathly pallor.

- Another attack is made on the Blue Moon Inn. This time by two heavily mutated infected which cause serious havoc and destruction to the pub. Despite causing panic and driving many to flee the area the mutations are eventually killed however in the chaos the pub's earnings for the day were stolen by a thief. Danny Steel, the landlord is now said to be fortifying the building against any further attacks. "The greatest endeavors are achieved because of their selfless intent"

The Story So Far

- A team of investigators sent by the crown entered the quarantine zone to try and locate the source of the plague. They began this effort by examining the bodies of some of the most recent victims of the plague that could be found in the Blue Moon Inn. After pouring over the clues for awhile they decided to instead try and track the strange magical energy that clung to the bodies.

With so many sources placed around the city it proved difficult to track properly. So much so that the team accidentally broke into the wrong house and accidentally murdered its occupant. The man was a carpenter, a skilled craftsman. If the team hadn't found him he would have lived to the age of 86 and had twelve children but he can't because he's dead. I hope you're proud of yourselves.

Anyway the team eventually tracked the nearest source of the infection to some slum housing nearby. Upon entry they found it to be so full of infected that they had to exit the building and burn it to the ground. Several of the infected ran out to escape the flames but the team managed to kill most of them. One of the infected was in possession of some strange black stones that were emitting the same dark energy as the corpses.

One member of the team, then accidentally revealed that she may be in possession of some of these stones before attempting to flee. The team managed to catch her and find a sack filled with the black stones, some black market weapons and the Black Arm Gang symbol painted on the side.

Upon delivering their new evidence to the crown it was realized that someone had probably paid to Black Arm to add the stones to their usual shipments of smuggled weapons throughout the city. The situation inside the zone is rapidly dissolving into chaos but if the crown can regain control they may want a word with the so called "Prince of Varrock".
