For two hundred and thirty seven years the Duchy of Lumbridge has stood as a warm hearth to the weary and vigilant against the tyrannies of the realm. From the wrath of demons to the triumph of Saradomin. From Polonius to Horacio and thereafter the great Logan Courval, these lands are no stranger to prosperity. However, these times of prosperity do not go unopposed.

The goblin tribe across the River Lum still grow restless with bloodlust, occasionally besieging homes and slaying our denizens.

Beneath the proud soil of our land in the vast array of tunnels still lies the cult of HAM, sharpening their daggers for the migration of peaceful creatures.

The Abyssal Knights, valiant as they may be, still must combat the extremities of the Abyss. Their tasking must also be protected by the Lumbridge Guard who are charged with defeating vile abominations which plague the swamplands and punishing the enemies of the duchy.

Whether these tribulations cripple the duchy or strengthen our resolve, Lumbridge will stand come dawn and it's people still proud of their heritage. As the breadbasket and porch of Misthalin, may Saradomin keep our home steadfast and strong, prepared to deliver our triumph at every corner...

CLAN RULES

Very simple. No one likes to take too much time explaining what roleplayers are already accustomed to. But in the event that you're new...

(Literally taken from the Runescape Wiki / Role-playing)

* No god-moding. God-moding is to take on an omnipotent role for a short while and describe a scenario which is unlikely or impossible, often to the god-moding player's advantage.

* No Metagaming. Metagaming is to use aspects of the gameplay and interface to learn things that a player should not know if they are role-playing properly. A common example of this is using the minimap to locate another player, using the camera angle to look through walls, reading something on the forums and making your character know something they didn't learn in character or knowing someone's name by their username.

* No Overpowered (OP) characters unless first discussed and for plot purpose. Over-powering is to create a character that is inhumanly powerful or skilled so as to make him invincible, undefeatable, or surviving irrefutable events of death.

* No Auto-hitting. Auto-hitting is when someone attacks another role-player without giving the other player a say in what happens.

* No Powerplaying. Powerplaying is when a player assumes control of something which is out of their control, such as deciding another character's actions or deciding the weather (unless stated Game Master).

* Be cautious of Lorebreaking. Lorebreaking is when a character goes against something which is solid and concrete in RuneScape which defines their race or character background.

DEFENSES

What Lumbridge lacks in structural defenses, they make up for in strategy.

Lumbridge possesses no navy, opting to use land forces for defensive and offensive actions.

Positioned along the coastline near the mines of the Lumbridge swamps are two artillery brigades manned by Lumbridge Guardsmen to deter naval attacks before reaching land. Supply lines are carefully positioned through the swamps.

When under attack, the bells of the local church ring to signal the townspeople to take shelter or take up arms. More often than naught, citizens are permitted to seek shelter in the castle until the arrival of enemy forces. Guardsmen will coordinate evacuating citizens before the enemy arrives. The castle walls are manned by archers and a portcullis serves as the front gates.

Lumbridge Guardsmen regularly patrol all lands within the duchy and in the event of attack, they are immediately recalled to the castle for defense.

MILITARY

Lumbridge Guardsmen - The policing force of the duchy. These brave men and women serve the people, their neighbors. When called upon by the Duke, they can be deployed anywhere and may serve as a standing army should war present itself. Although a guard force, they may also be summoned by the monarch of Misthalin and/or it's head of state in times of crisis. The Guardsmen mostly concern themselves with the goblin threat across the Lum, strange occurrences in the Swamp, and combating intruders. Regular squads of guardsmen are led by sergeants. Sergeants answer to the Captain of the Guard.

Militia - In times of crisis, conscription will be called for all citizens to take up arms. As the Kingdom of Misthalin grants it's denizens the right to bear arms, most citizens should be prepared. If not, they report to the castle armory.

FACTIONS

Thieves Guild - Led by [vacant] . The Thieves Guild is the only organization like it throughout Gielinor. Thieves from all over the world rally in Lumbridge to train and conspire with their fellow cretins. As of recently, they've been pacified since the Guardsmen doubled patrols, however, that could change under proper leadership.

H.A.M. (Humans Against Monsters) - This infamous organization of terrorists may be on the side of a majority of inhabitants within the duchy, but that doesn't stop them from baiting allies and rightful citizens of Misthalin. Recently they've been keeping to themselves in their hideout, but that would only mean resistance is brewing...

COMMERCE

Traditionally known as the Breadbasket of Misthalin along with it's neighbor, Draynor, Lumbridge carries a reputation for being an economic powerhouse of southern Misthalin. It's close proximity to the Kharidian Desert allows all trade navigated through land to be brought first to it's doorstep and then into Al-Kharid. The farming communities of Lumbridge provide produce to their fellow constituents. With the shared port between Lumbridge and Al Kharid, fresh seafood can be fished along the shoreline as well as the boating system in place to ensure faster trade routes through the Lum.

Mines in the Swamp provide copper, tin, coal, mithril, and adamant. The latter two used for the market for their rarity and value in the mines.

Mill Lane Mill and the outlying fields are the Breadbasket's source for grain, potatoes, onions, and cabbages.
