The crowd was gathered, angry and fierce and the stage was set. Upon that stage stood three figures, two who hid in the shadows for the time being and one dressed in the simply robes of a Saradominist monk who stood in the light and spoke to the crowd.
“Knights! Wizards! Soldiers of the Faith! Please gather close.
My fellow worshipphers of Truth and Order, I have been shown a vision! Not a vision born of madness or from some magical delusion, but a vision painted within my own mind as I overheard the White Knights describing the scene of our darkest day. It was a vision of betrayal, of bitter failure and defeat. It brought pain to my heart and a tear to my eye to even contemplate such an affront to our most noble order. But in the same moment it also brought me anger, such an anger as I have never known before.
Zaros, the god of lies and treachery and deceit has stolen the crown of our proud leader Saradomin! And as if that were not insult enough, it was done with the aid of agents he had snuck into our own ranks. A plan thousands of the years in the making, so solidifying the so called Empty Lord’s claim of being the god of fate. Are we to be as puppets to him, dancing on strings to a tune of his own making. Are we fated to the destiny he has set out for the world, no matter how twisted and evil his dark intentions may be?
It was during these musings that I discovered to my surprise that they were echoed by another, who knew all too well how it felt to dance to Zaros’ tune. Not a natural ally of ours and not one Saradomin would entirely approve of, though we have worked with them to defeat such a enemy before.”
