Details
: A noblewoman was kidnapped from the court of Sophanem. The circumstances of this kidnapping are indeed very strange - her door was guarded, but she is missing all the same. The Pharaoh has sent a summons out to any questing knights or adventurers, who are seeking fame and riches, that they might aid the court in finding her before it is too late.

You have walked for hundreds of leagues across an endless desert. You had nearly met you're fate, at the hands of brigands, beasts, and the scorching Kharidian climes... but here you are still... a lone wanderer, in a boundless desert. As you carry yourself, foot by foot, step by step, your body aches. You then look up, if only for a moment, to behold the oppressive power of the sun as it beats upon your bare back. Even when the day is late as it is now, it persists and burns on, but so to do you. The only protection you have is the scarf wrapped over your head, but it has long since dried and the only reprieve you have are the few drops left in your water-skin, but that too is near to empty. This doesn't stop you from squinting for a peek into its depths, as you lower the skin in dismay, you see it in the distance. At first a lost glimpse, another mirage, it will only dissipate as you near it. But it doesn't. As you get closer, the sun begins to set and it now shows clearly the outline of a great city. Even closer still you venture, and begin to hear through clouded ears, the sound of a wailed dirge... a funeral prayer. You have come at last to The Gates of Sophanem. High above you these old walls now tower, the sun barely peaking over them. As you approach the main gate, a suspicious guard questions you...

"...Who now hides in the shadows?" They ask

You remain silent. But the guard continues...

"...Why have you sought us out here? Do you have a name?"

Welcome to The Gates of Sophanem!

This is the home thread for world 42 Menaphite role-play. By starting this clan we seek to mirror in every aspect of it's being, the cultural, social, and religious affairs of the Menaphite Faction. This role-play will strive to recreate for the role-player, a functioning Menaphite society within world 42 that incorporates all of these characteristics. Through doing this, we will fashion this role-play into a welcoming and engaging experience for those involved.

Menaphite culture, that which is within this game, is based almost in a parallel to that within Ancient Egypt. As such, and within the bounds of lore, we will take aspects from Ancient Egyptian culture and integrate them into our own Menaphite role-play. This will be done with great care so as to allow for role-play to continue, and not to improve or add onto the existing habits and customs without regard for lore. As that is a mistake made all to commonly within role-play.

If there are any questions, comments, or concerns about how we role-play or how this thread is physically set up , i'd ask that you ask them privately and in-game . The purpose of this thread is mainly in-character and I would like the dialogue within to pertain to that.
