The Temple Knights: A covert division of the Knights of Falador, tasked with gathering intelligence on their enemies. They recruit only from the smartest and strongest of the knights, those willing to accept obscurity in exchange for being on the front lines to protect their loved ones. Official records of their presence are non-existent, leaving only rumors and fables... and what rumors and fables they are. It is whispered that Sir Amik Varze's authority over their organization is limited, despite his position of leadership. It is claimed the roots of the Temple Knights are in fact far older than those of Falador... Unspeakably so. They are said to be the founders of the Knights of Falador, and perhaps so much else. It is even suggested their orders come not from Sir Amik, the man in the white tower... but from a higher power.

But this is all rumor. What is more certain is that the Temple Knights' hearts are as pure as their minds are sharp. They are devout warrior-monks, noble and vigilant guardians of the people, protectors of peace and sovereignty - and their piety and devotion to the teachings of Saradomin are without question.

Or so it seemed.

Something has long been stirring in the shadows. The Temple Knights' head of operations may not have been what he seemed, in more ways than one. Many of the knights have quietly undergone a "final initiation", during which they have been taught of a master apart from Saradomin - a master who had, until now, not shown his face. And now, quite publicly, the curtain has been thrust back and those who may have been reluctant forced to confront their true master... and compelled by magical means to offer him their loyalty, whether they were prepared to or not.

Few remain loyal now to the Knights of Falador and to Saradomin. Sir Tiffy, leader in all but name, keeps the faith - but he has lost almost his entire command and his only family. Most step out of the light now... and into the shadows, from whence they came.
The Asgarnian ale must flow.

+++Your Character+++

Until recently, you served as one of the elite of the Knights of Falador, an order in which you were likely reared since childhood. Since coming under the command of Sir Tiffy Cashien - the order's spymaster - you have learned a more flexible approach to the honor code of the knights. It might have felt uncomfortable at first to bend the rules which were always impressed upon you as unbreakable, but ultimately it seemed to be in service to a greater good - and knowing the source of your orders no doubt provided some comfort that you have not been drifting away from Saradomin's light. And you have heard, more than once, the name of your leader's elusive superior officer: Sir Vey Lance, the man who talks to God.

It has been some time since you were contacted by Sir Vey personally and taken into his confidence. You have learned things since then, things that have likely led you to question everything in which you ever believed. And yet there were still more questions than answers... Until this very moment. Why did you leave the side of your brothers and your god to follow the master? Did Sir Vey's whispers seed genuine doubt in the corners of your mind - or did something more sinister take hold of your thoughts? The rest of the story is yours. Design your character with care, and submit your dossier when ready.
The Asgarnian ale must flow.

+++Headquarters+++

Dating to the middle of the Fifth Age, the castle in the heart of Falador has long served as a reliable stronghold for the city's knights, who are said to have built it with their own hands. Despite appearances, the castle has proved capable of housing an order near 700 men strong, albeit in cramped quarters - the majority of knights, squires, and peons sleep in small dormitories, twelve to a man.

Things are looking more spacious for them now. Ours is a force of 300, comprising almost half of the total strength of the order. Yet circumstances have necessitated that we abandon the castle, our lifelong home. Our archive room in the castle library remains in the hands of the uninitiated; we had little time in which to retrieve most of our records. Yet the danger is slim. Our former brothers and sisters will likely not be able to decrypt the codes in which our documents are written. For the time being, the more pressing matter is this - where do you house an army?

We must trust the master will provide.

+++The Holy Lance+++

In the ancient days, before our order was born, gods walked the earth. Saradomin - the so-called god of wisdom - personally led many a cavalry charge against his enemies, carrying a lance imbued with his power. It was this very lance that he wielded in his infamous duel against Grand Master Veilinius, who thereafter bent the knee and delivered to him those warriors who would become his trusted knights. And when the time came for Saradomin to leave this world, he gifted the lance to our then-head of operations, in remembrance of that fateful battle and in gratitude for his friendship and loyalty.

Such misguided sentimentality.

Our order has nevertheless held on to the Holy Lance in the many centuries since then. The residual power of Saradomin has long clung to it, and its status as a holy relic has been clear to most who have laid eyes upon it. It has been a useful tool, in both politics and in recruitment - an emblem of our righteousness. When several of our number formed the Knights of Falador at the end of the Fourth Age, and we were absorbed into the new order, the lance became the standard the Knights of Falador carried into battle: Their most sacred and precious possession, and one wielded many a time in defense of their beloved city.

But it is ours.

In our haste to depart Falador, the lance remains in the hands of our former brothers. It is an artifact long prized by Sir Vey, and besides that, a symbol of our brothers' perceived legitimacy. Their morale has no doubt taken a blow as it is from recent events. Imagine if we were to secure the lance once more, that relic around which they have so long rallied.
