Hey guys, so this isn't roleplay related exactly, but I made it specifically for our community.
In the game suggestions forum I posted a thread asking for an advanced ignore option that would allow us to make trolls invisible, emotes and bonfires included. This would completely strip them of them of their power,
no more pretending they're not there while your character stands in a cluster of bonfires,
no more giant emotes filling up the bars,
no more Yaks and demons running around when you're trying to concentrate on a complex fight.
Unfortunately, the non RP community doesn't have as much of a problem with trolls as we do, and I'm having trouble garnering support, which is why I'm asking for your help here.
If the rp community can go and show some support for the thread, and argue our position, maybe Jagex will take it seriously and we can finally be rid of trolls with a simple solution.
My stupid self typo'd the thread name (it was late, don't judge!), you'll find it called "igore presence option".
Here is the link
If you could please go to that thread and voice your opinion. Yay or nay. This is for our community, and in my opinion, it could help the rest of the game as a whole by finally ending most types of trolling.
Sorry for posting an advertisement in the RP forums, but this is the community I'm acting on behalf of, I need your help.

Thing is, do rp's in 42 get trolled much anymore?

YES.
I made the thread while watching the canifis bar get filled with bonfires and a crowd of trolls circling each other. The roleplay died BECAUSE of the trolls. and it's always been a problem.
A little trolling, a lot of trolling...why tolerate ANY trolling?
even if the option only last for 30 minutes at a time, it would be enough to take the power out of their hands. Imagine a roleplay, literally undisturbed. It's a simple fix but the implications are huge. this could END trolling in most instances. Please please PLEASE tell your trolled stories, or show some support for the thread linked in the OP. Even if you disagree, voice that there so we can dialogue about it in it's appropriate forum.

While I wish you luck in your quest,
we all know how much Jagex cares about its playerbase.
Instead you might want to consider roleplaying in a player owned home, or a clan citadel. These were the default go-to places for clans looking to be left undisturbed in the past, although I am not sure if this has changed.
All that for a pile of bricks.

Well damn, guess I'm not around as much as I should be.

Ignore and report them for disruptive behaviour. It's all you can and should do.
Bit of an extreme thread you made imo. You made it seem
much
bigger than it really is. Now you are just showing the people that trolled you that you've been annoyed so much you'd pull out an extreme solution to a minor problem. Bit counterproductive to your issue.

I am bad and that's good, I will never be good and that's not bad, there's no one I'd rather be than me.

I thought about that before I posted my suggestion. But consider this.
How often do you see a troll that didn't think his disruption worked? Most of these trolls are smart enough to know that what they do is disruptive, and individual rpers have already approached them at one point or another. They mock you. there's only a tiny percentage of roleplayers that it doesn't bother.
And how many trolls are actual rpers with a grudge that rally more trolls to disrupt your session? That has always been a problem. They ALREADY know that what they do works, that's why they still do it. but what scarce roleplay still exists doesn't need any more help dying.
What do we have to lose? Provoking more trolls? That's not scary enough. there's so few roleplays now that they can't find us, but their actions will hinder the community in it's efforts to bounce back.
What I propose is a feature that does NO harm to the troll, they can't tell if you ignore them or not. I don't see what makes that an extreme solution. But imagine being able to make trolls disappear the moment they become a nuisance. You'll never have to deal with them again. That will END trolling harmlessly and effectively by putting the power in the hands of the individual players. No reporting, the troll doesn't even get reported. you just don't have to interact with them. Jagex won't have to deal with them, the community doesn't have to care about them, and they can do as they please without disrupting over people.
