Introduction
+


Loud footsteps echoed down marbled hallways. A well dressed nobleman made his way to a large mahogany door at the end of the greatest of these halls. He was garbed in a crimson robe of the finest cashmere, which was dotted with ever darker fleurs-de-lis. Upon the man's head was a beret of that same darker shade of cashmere as that which decorated his great-robe. He was a portly figure, though not so great whereas he could not brandish a blade in battle. Though, he did not bear the marks of a battle either. Rather, he was a fairly tall and dominating figure, his weight only adding to the immensity of his presence. His face was as stern and mannered as his gait, a pace not learned by wasting time fraternizing with those of lower stature.

Now, this great man approached the guard at the end of the walk and for a moment the two exchanged glances. One of avarice and one of complacency. The complacent guard quickly snapped to his senses when he saw who exactly it was that had interrupted his mindless vigil. The guard offered his apologies and the noble scoffed in his face as the large door was opened for him. He passed and the guard sighed in relief. As the man entered to great room, light shown in from the out of doors. Out there it was a bright and well-lit Kharidian summer day, inside the Golden Bank, it was a cold and unforgiving day. But a day for business none the less.
