So, as a long-time roleplayer considering getting back into rsrp in my space time, and given the somewhat inactive state of W42 freelance, I find myself asking:


Who the hell is everyone?



This is my solution! A thread hosted by a relatively neutral party where everyone can post their active character profiles - imagine it as a kind of a phonebook directory where you can look up active roleplayers/characters so you can seek them out, or just get an idea of how many people are active in recent times.

The hope is that seeing active characters (and optionally how to contact them) will help spur on more people to roleplay, publicly or privately. It also helps shake off the "w42 is dead" vibe to actually have a bunch of people showing off their active characters.

Rules
- Do not comment on other peoples' characters, this is a public resource for everyone.
-Put as much or as little information about your character in as you like!
-Putting contact details like discord/discord server invites are optional but recommended.
-No single character profile should exceed two pages.
-Linking to other threads which contain more information about the character is fine!
-Try to post active characters, don't post an absurd amount of inactive chars.

Following below will likely be a few templates, but feel free to structure the information in whatever way you want. Yes, you can copy-paste a character's forum application from another thread here! This is just keeping track of who's active on 42 at the minute, and it's meant to be as frictionless as possible.

As well as contact details, you can consider adding your timezone or availability so people know when you're likely to be around (thanks for the idea Nath). For example, "Available 6-10pm CST".

There we go! Feel free to comment on the idea of this thread, if you think it's a good/bad idea or what-have-you, but otherwise feel free to post whichever of your characters are actually active and around on w42!

History:
Deasthana was found in a Cradle fleeting down a river around the village of Arth, in the kingdoms of the North. The farmer who found her raised her as his single child. [...] She was wandering in te woods and tumbled upon a party of wanderers who were on a quest she had to join. [...] The quest leader appeared to be her brother, who was also found at birth. They parted path in order to find out who they really are. As Ashkael (brother) remained on World, Deasthana, beginning to understand the ways of magic, opened a rift to another place. As she stepped on to Gielinor through the World Gate, she decided to settle for a bit and discover the wonders of this runescape. Who knows, maybe she will find here some keys to her roots ?

Appearance: Often does not show his face, but instead prefers to be "identified" by his helmet (though for sake of clarity, dark brown, unkempt beard and blue eyes, about 6'2 tall and appears to wear armour befitting a mercenary).

Skillset: Bounty Hunter. Combat-Oriented + Stealth/Entrapment skills.
History:

Gueron was raised as a Rellekan Tribesman and to-be Fremennik Warrior, but was exiled for killing a fellow warrior during practice (head-trauma due to being pommelled to the head). Despite protest from fellow warriors and family, the Chieften was forced to at least exile him, though originally they wanted his head.

Depression began to set in, especially being pushed out the gate and having only what he could carry. he was poor in coinage, but his training as a young lad led him to a career in bounty hunting when meeting another bounty hunter who was eying up the same poster Gueron looked at. Seeing the good reward for the person's death, he convinced Gueron to come along to make the job easier and split it 50-50.

This was his first bounty and led him to start developing his more psychotic tendancies and living in the moment, wherein work was done professionally and his spare time was spent in bars or purchasing more feminine "company" whilst lodging. Work hard, play harder.

Age: 30 (As of Year 10 of the Sixth Age)
Appearance: A woman with brown hair and tanned skin who clearly spends much time outdoors. She has a very athletic physique, but it is usually obscured by her splitbark armour or robes such as the Void Knights' uniform.
Place of Origin: Taverley
Affiliations: Void Knights, Crux Eqal, Guthixians, the Godless
Skillset: Melee and Magic combat, Slayer, Nature survival skills (Hunter, Fishing, Herblore, etc.)

History:
Asatrix was born in Taverley to a family of druids, but was ill-suited to the pacifistic way of life. She often snuck out out of the village and became an unofficial apprentice of the Slayer Master Turael after forming a friendship with his daughter and formal apprentice Spria.

When her parents learned of Asa's distinctly non-druidic Slayer training, they made the decision to ship her off to the Void Knights, the militaristic order of Guthix. She became a member of the knightly order, honing her abilities in melee and magic combat while fighting against the Void Pests. Due to her Slayer skills, Asa demonstrated potential with clearing up Pest stragglers after the portals had been closed, earning her the position of Huntress.

When news of the assassination of Guthix reached the Void Knights, Asa learned of Guthix's intentions for Gielinor. She did not want to spend her life keeping back the Pests and sought to take the fight to the returning gods in Guthix's name.

In the first year of the Sixth Age, Asa left the Void Knights' Outpost and travelled the world, seeking to stop the other gods wherever possible. Knowing that she would never be a match for a god, Asa chose to play her part by using her talents to hunt down their minions and most loyal followers.
