Page 1 - A brief history


It wasn't so long ago that Burthorpe lacked a leader of any sort and functioned on a local level. The decrease in troll activity resulted in large portions of the military being put on standby and life returned to normal. The arrival of the Andromeda conglomerate changed that, as the heir to the conglomerate, Steven Andromeda, sought to rule over the land in the absence of a leader. This prompted Zachary Moore, a well-known local, to step up in opposition. An election was set to be held for the title of lordship in the dual lands of Burthorpe and Taverly. Lacking the funds of his corporate counterpart, Zachary sought the aid of two wealthy entrpreneurs; John Jones of the Bounty Hunters United and Derrick Valus of Valus industries.

Their combined support lead to a victory for Moore, and a lordship was formed. The Bounty Hunters United and Valus industries both received tax breaks and set up for business in Burthorpe. With them came a massive influx in weapon and raw material demand, and so the market of Burthorpe and Taverly flourished nearly overnight. In addition to supplying weapons for the Kandarin war machine, Burthorpe now provided armaments for the Bounty Hunters United. Investors and businessmen the world over made their way to Burthorpe to take part in this new and exciting market.

Fortunes can be made or lost in a day here in Burthorpe. Thieves, Bounty Hunters, and businessmen play a dangerous game of rock paper scissors here, and business interests sometimes take the place of morality. - Lord Zachary Moore
- Lord of Burthorpe and Taverly. He leads the state of Burthorpe/Taverly. He's lived in Taverly for many years but his family and his past are relatively murky.

- Director John Jones
- Not much is known about the director of the BHU, or even what he looks like. His true wealth is unknown but it must be a considerable amount given his pseudo-army of bounty hunters.

- Derrick Valus
- CEO of Valus industries, a company based around inventions. Several wealthy contracts have made him rich, and allowed him to set up an outpost in Burthorpe from which he can sell his inventions without having to leave his home in Seers Village.

-Steven Andromeda
- Heir to the Andromeda Conglomerate. The Andromeda Conglomerate's monopoly on woodcutting and its products have made the namesake family absurdly wealthy. At the head of the business is his father Gregory, but his son Steven manages the company. ¸¤·.¸.·¤´˜¨Live and let Die¨˜´¤·.¸.·¤¸
