The Silverspine family has had many great wandmakers in its history. However the family never made a business out of the talent many of its members had. However with the passing of the Bordeleaux family the Silverspines decided to take advantage of the void in esteemed wand makers. Silverspine Wands is committed to only produce the highest quality of wands for all magic users. All shops bear the Five-headed silver hydra family crest making them easily identifiable.

Things to note: The nature of this roleplay is obviously heavily inspired by Harry Potter wand lore. Wands will have “wood, core, grip, and pommel” components. Not all wands will have pommels or grips. I will be interpreting what sort of effects certain wood and creature components have on the wand. I am open to suggestions, and debate on wand components for this rp.

While most wandmakers at Silverspines are from the family not all are. Nevertheless Silverspines only employs highly skilled wandmakers. Wandmakers tend to be very particular and as such some refuse to work with certain ingredients or only make certain types of wands.

Wands can be crafted with specific magicks in mind. Wands are strange tools and companions. It should be noted that no two wands are exactly alike. The materials used to craft a wand and the way it is enchanted can greatly affect how a wand functions. Those who do not understand this may unknowingly purchase a wand inferior for their magic specialization.

Universal Wands: These wands are jacks of all trades. They do not typically hinder any type of magic. While there are no large drawbacks to using these wands they will almost never out perform more specialized wands in their respective fields.

Elemental Wands: These wands almost always incorporate some sort of small orb or gems. They are made to aid the casting of a specific element. Unlike elemental staves the wands don't completely replace the need for runes.

Siphon Wands: These wands were crafted to aid runecrafters in siphoning the runic energies at the altars and runespan. Incidentally these wands are also proficient at dispelling and can handle a great deal of stress. However they struggle with complicated spells.

Healer Wands: These wands greatly enhance healing magicks of all kinds. One of the few wand types that allow for magical plants to be used for it's core. These types of wands are also adept at dispelling curses. Do be warned that attempting to cast combat spells can cause immense stress on the wand and cause spells to rebound and destroy the wand.

Battlemage Wands: A rare type of wand. Battlemage wands are among the very few to make use of metals beyond gold and silver such as silverthril and silversteel. These wands typically feature handguards. Many look like large ornate daggers and can also be used as such. These wands are geared for combat spells and typically fail to cast healing magicks. They are also considered the most durable of wands.

Dueling Wands: Popular among noble mages. Dueling wands like battlemage wands typically feature handguards. These wands share many qualities with battlemage wands and universal wands. While being geared towards combat these wands struggle to cast wave and surge spells. A notable quality of these wands is the speed at which they cast multiple spells in succession. Some consider these elegant wands to be the very best.

Ward Wands: Considered a "side-arm" among battlemages. Ward wands will only cast protective spells. The wands are durable and unyielding. While not popular among the common mages they are carried by many mage slayers and battlemages who don't desire to carry a shield.

Enchanter Wands: These wands are noted to have short lives by professionals. These wands are sometimes mistaken for universal wands by some. They have no downside to them and allow for superior enchantment work. The extensive work done by professional enchanters tends to cause the cores to need replacing yearly.

Dark Wands: Considered a misnomer by many wandmakers. Dark wands get a bad reputation due to the common ingredients used to make them. These wands cannot cast most healing magicks without breaking. These wands are geared towards casting curses. Perhaps another reason dark wands have a bad reputation is that they are commonly used by dark wizards and necromancers.

Whimsy Wands: Among the strangest of wands. These rare wands use unusual materials and have odd designs. These wands struggle to cast offensive surge level spells. Oddly enough these wands empower shrinking spells, alchemy spells, transfiguration, and illusion magicks. It is rumored that Magus Concendo uses a whimsy wand.

Hybrid Wands: The rarest wands. Hybrid wands are the most expensive and most difficult wands to make. Hybrid wands as one expects combines two types of wands.

Slayer Wands: A difficult wand to make. Slayer wands are carefully and specially crafted to be able to cast slayer dart spells. These wands also tend to be more sturdy and often have strong scents ranging from garlic to charcoal. These wands are great for any magically talented slayer.

Holy Wands: Another wand many consider a misnomer. Holy wands are named as such mostly due to it being the opposite of dark wands. They are proficient in the dispelling of curses. These wands also tend to cast more powerful crumble undead spells. These wands are also great for purification spells and warding against undead and demons. These wands are incapable of casting curses.

God Wands: Rarest of all wands. These wands allow the use of god spells such as the dreaded Flames of Zamorak or Saradomin Strike. They are the only wands that cannot be made into a hybrid wand.

All wands at Silverspine Wands are made to order. An interview with the customer and wandmaker will be scheduled to work out the individual. As such the order forms are used to establish a price range, wand type, and preferred wandmaker. While we do realize you might want a specific wandmaker there is a chance that the type of wand you desire is not made by that wandmaker. We will work to pair you with the best wandmaker suited to your needs in those rare circumstances. We do allow for customers to provide their own wand materials and offer a small discount for doing so.

Silverspine Wands only buys high quality ingredients to use. As such they only buy raw materials from select people. Rarely the Silverspine family will purchase from pirates, but they tend to keep that a secret

Silverspine Wands has a slayer partner program. They will hire slayers to get rare materials for them and will only work with the best. Slayers enjoy benefits such as discounts on wands and having their goods purchased at competitive prices. Slayer partners do sign a contract stating they will only sell wand materials to Silverspine Wands for the duration of their contracts.

Silverspine Wands protects their stores with a series of wards. Many creatures can also be found in the stores as the wandmakers tend to bring their familiars to work. Each store is also charmed to smell a particular way.

Draynor Location: Charmed to smell like mint and pine.

Varrock Location: Charmed to smell like cedar wood and lemon.
