I've noticed that I have 15 trackers out of 4 websites. If I install an anti-tracker, how will that effect my gaming sites? It will delete all cookies and erase all fingerprinting. Does that mean that all the sites that track me will treat me as a new user?

Why do gaming sites want to track my internet activity? They don't show ads. I understand why a shopping site might want to track my activity.

All websites track you one way or another. I don't see why a gaming site would exempt itself.
Whether you don't see ads because the site doesn't have ads or you use an ad-blocker, they can still use your info and sell it to google and whoever.

However nefarious you think people are, multiply that by 10 and you're getting close.

I went back to see who all are tracking me.

Jagex.com and RuneScape.com are tracking me on the same 6 sites. I have no idea what some of the sites are.

The third has two trackers and the fourth has one tracker.

The shopping sites don't seem to be tracking me.

Even your internet provider logs everywhere you go for upto 12 months. Well they do in the UK. It's the law here for some strange reason.

Ways to get around it is use a VPN. Make sure it's Nord or any other good VPN as they log nothing. If you use a Free cheap 1 then you may have Security issues. Be very carefull with them.

Also looking on Google.

How do I stop being tracked?

Open Settings, then scroll down and tap Location. To stop all tracking, you can toggle Use location off. If you don't want to remove all permissions, tap App location permissions. For each app, tap it to choose your preferred setting: Allow all the time, Allow only while using the app, Ask every time, or Don't allow.

It may help a little.

Good luck.

Thanks for the advice, Tuffty. My anti-virus has a lot of extra safety features. I'm already paying them a small fortune and they want me to add on anti-tracking. As I was reading your suggestions, I remembered that my anti-virus also has a VPN I can turn on or off. It was included on one of their updates last year. If a VPN will do the same as anti-tracking, why should I pay them more money for a feature they already have? I think you just saved me some money.

Hi Prince

From what I'm aware, anti-trackers don't eliminate tracking outright, they merely minimize data exposure, or else you wouldn't be able to access parts of the site. So you'll always be sending data, but at least you'll reduce it to some degree. As for digital fingerprinting, that's almost impossible to evade because trackers collect unique traits about your system/browser which can with certainty be tied to you

It also depends on the type of trackers, some are slightly benign (collecting diagnostic data and traffic analytics), while others just want to exploit your data for profit

I use Mullvad VPN, ID generators for making fake google accounts, even my computer is under a fake name, use adblock plus. 80%+ of all my online accounts are made with temporany mailing services, if i forget the password, i just create another.

Heck i even spent 2 hours spamming refresh on receive SMS number site so i didn't have to create another account with my real phone number.

I have created by now most likely;

20+ mod forum accounts due to lost passwords
nexus mods i think i have 3 saved under my google atm, no clue why but have a total of 40....

Reddit account in fear of being banned, 20 accounts.

Google accounts, Real 4, fake/temp 30+ but 18 saved, some were deleted because i forgot to verify lol.

^I don't trust the world, so i hide everything. Heck even those surveys i lie on, oh they want me to be a female it seems and aged 30-40, open up the ID Generator now i'm Erica Smith, 36 from USA, North Carolina. <---it even gives basic area postal codes which seal the deal on most sites. Also FYI, these ID Gens don't use real IDs, just saves you time designing a fake name and picking a place and street address with a matching postal code.

-----

Personally i wouldn't use 'software' to untrack yourself, i bet that software tracks you to sell that info first :P , your browser does have options to block all cookies, just allow sites you trust.

Whatever sites are tracking me atm, as i don't use VPN's on this site must be highly confused by all my names on different accounts.

I honestly mainly do all this stuff to mess them up, i find it funny. Fake accounts alone must cause a lot of damage to these sites i dislike that would otherwise have my REAL email spammed all the time. :) <---if i have to suffer deleting all these spam emails they can suffer with the 'name shortages' complaints, i'm Tim Smith -taken-, Tim.Smith -taken, okay....Tim Smith999 -Taken- ......I somehow find this all funny. I just hate companies too much. ;)

I go overboard, i know :P

Ad Guard is an excellent tool that stops websites from tracking. It can be configured system wide as well.

A lot of marketers use these analytics tool to understand how users interact with the site and how to push out promotions to potential customers. Your information is a vital commodity these days.
