Overshadowed a bit by the new about Olivia Newton John, but Lamont Dozier was an absolute legend, responsible for hundreds and hundreds of songs, particularly with Motown.

He wrote huge hits for The Supremes, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Martha Reeves, The Marvelettes, and many more.

Sadly I had to Google the guy. I have not heard of him till now. I'm not a huge music fan especially Motown hence me not knowing about him. :(

Reading the Wiki about him he had a great time writing songs for everyone. ;)

Seemed like a great guy in his time.

He will be missed by his fans.

I had never heard of him until this thread. I checked out some of the songs he had written with the Holland brothers for acts such as the Supremes and I knew a lot of them from when I was young. He was very talented. RIP

Yep, that covers it quite well, R&B, Soul... and Motown became a kind of genre as well as a label. He was huge if you're into that kind of music (as I am).
