A few days of rain have seen a " grouping " of bees take shelter underneath the awning.

Some things to note, they're occupying the space that's furthest away from the house & still open to he rain, instead of in the middle.

Each morning there's less of them on the awning post & groups of them in a bundle on the ground. I though these were dead bees until seeing them today ( Saturday ). Not sure how bees sleep.

Each passing day there is less & less of a mass of bees & the weather is getting back to sunshine.

They haven't been a problem with hanging laundry or moving by, however the lawn needs to be mowed which may present a challenge.

Apart from that, it could be quite easy to live alongside them .... they put themselves out of the way. (

I love bees because they are amazing creatures. They do so much work and are beneficial to us humans. Unfortunately I'm allergic to them so I stay well clear of them. I haven't been stung by a bee for about 30 years because I'm careful.

Have you ever seen 'Bee Movie' Its about a bee that doesn't want to work all its life making honey and wants to do its own thing. And then it becomes friends with a human.

The bees have now engulfed the base of the post & measure almost a 1/3 of a metre.

Whilst others have taken back to the top but are working on a corner. I guess they're planning on staying put. Another renegade Rat-Lord from the Master pond of scum.

Bee happy. Bee's are your friend.

Never rile them or you will be running away fast.

I have bee's all over my Lavender they seem to love it and have 20-30 bees a time harvesting it for their hives. I like them a lot and use to look after bee hives and get their honey. I don't like honey though.

My grass needs cutting too and I just do it as the bees buzz off and leave me too it. Only takes 15 mins and they are back munching on lavender. Comprehensive Account Security

I didn't know that. Whenever I've seen a bee stay on a flower for a long time I've wondered if it was ill or dying. I have sometimes found dead bees at the base of our lavender and wondered if a change in the weather killed them or they had simply reached the end of their life span.

Housemate reckons the freeze to death easily if they don't make it back to the hive before nightfall. Another renegade Rat-Lord from the Master pond of scum.
