I can't snap my fingers. How do I learn this ability? My fingers are always too dry to snap. Can you guys snap your fingers? I try but the only sound I can make with my fingers is the slight sound of my fingers brushing each other. I'm not upset I can't snap my fingers, I've never been asked to snap. I guess my skin is too absorptive for snapping. I imagine if I was an actor this would be a bit of a hinderance for scenes that required snapping fingers.

Honestly, it's just practice. I can snap better with my left hand than my right but it is something I've had to practice because at one point I couldn't snap with my right hand at all.

Just practice and I'm sure you'll get it eventually.

The "snap" sound comes mainly from the middle finger thwacking against the base of the thumb. It's less of a rubbing action and more of a lever action where you build tension in your fingertip by opposing its downward motion with your rigid thumb until your fingers suddenly slide apart.
