This is really cool how a really old gaming pc performs so much faster when overclocked but like anything that's inducted power such as turboed engines, body on steroids, etc it will definitely reduce the lifespan.
I am having a lot of fun doing this indeed but at the same time cpu temps are reaching over 100c to the point where pc is shutting off and caused harddisk issues. I managed to get my dual core to 4.1ghz which is extremely high on a stock cpu cooler.
I think my overclocking days are over because I am tired of constantly having to reinstall windows due to the pc somehow messing everything up each time it shuts down. I will however keep the cpu slightly overcooked to the point where it won't cause any crashes nor imbalanced temperatures.
On the bright side my cpu is actually doing a fantastic job and my gpu is really healthy but you know the gpu is slightly worse for gaming at this point. I was wondering why I was lagging on rs3 and after some benchmarking and research it wasn't due to my cpu at all, it's due to my gpu.
I mean the gpu was fine running unreal tournament and crysis back in 2009, I guess rs3 graphics are more demanding now.
I'm really saddened by the passing of my note 8 phone. I loved playing on maxed out settings on it... Hopefully sprint offers note phones again for 50% off soon.
