Massive news broke this week about possibly the greatest player to ever walk this earth wanting to leave the great Barcelona and probably play in the prem, is this a good move for him or do you think "like me" that he will be ripped apart and have the crap kicked out of his tiny old legs in a league that is far more aggressive than the league he is used to, a 25 year old Messi would have flourished in the prem but a 33 year old imo would be taking off more than he can chew.

City seem like his prefered choice, us "Liverpool" would not even entertain an option to have him now "he would not even get a place in our amazing side right now" but if city want to waste their cash on him "purely for his shirt sales" is that a good move for both parties or is it just city using the man as a publicity stunt and a money making scheme

He is quite old and pretty small and defo aint no James Milner!!!!

I agree, Barca aint where he should be but should he retire gracefully or look at a more suitable league for a small ageing chap and finish his brilliant career gracefully.

Chat away, all opinions welcomed "even city fans ones lol"

Much love

I'm not really a fan of football and don't really watch any. :P

Seeing his name here made me read it and think he's not right for our type of football. It's too tough for him and he will regret it big time as they will just kick his feet from under him.

Also he will just cost way too much and it only takes 1 bad kick and he's done with football.

I honestly think at his age mow he should just hang up the boots and relax. He can coach or manage if he needs it but playing nope not good.

I don't think he would do great in Premier League because it's probably the physically roghest league and he comes from the diametrically opposite. But he does have a lot of familiar faces in Manchester City.

Any other choice than La liga and Premier League is a step down. So maybe it's just a power play to force Bartomeu out of Barcelona. It wouldn't be the first time he did something like that.

I'd love to see Messi over here, even if he went to a rival team... he's just so good to watch.

He's got a few years left in him yet.
