I did have plans for around my house. I may still do part of it but rest no the weather forecast is that bad that jobs off.

I do have a Halloween and Christmas projector I can put in the garden and it will light the front of my house. I may do that as it was sort of expensive to buy just for Halloween and Christmas. Be used more around Christmas unless someone nicks it.

I'll try and get a video if the rain stops lol.

I also have a bag of candy for when the kids come round wanting cash. They get candy this year. :P

I played a prank on them last year. Gave them all Toothbrushes and Toothpaste lol. Their parents were laughing and so was I. Kids on the other hand didn't get the joke.

Also because of the strong winds I can't use my Chinese lanters. Shame really as I got quite a few lol. Have to keep them for Christmas when we have no wind or rain.

Happy Halloween everyone!

No major plans here apart from my usual horror film binge.
It's absolutely chucking it down with rain at the moment, I hope it dries up for everyone's trick or treating later.
Who's the cat that won't cop out when there's danger all about?

I don't do anything for halloween except have a bag of wrapped chocolate bars jic any children call round.
When I was growing up there was no such thing as Trick or Treat. I didn't even realise people did anything until we moved to a larger village in my mid teens where the youth club had a party with apple bobbing etc. I didn't enjoy it. :P Still no sign of Trick or Treat. It seems to have taken off after the film E.T. when people in the UK saw how halloween is celebrated in the USA.
Edit to add: In some parts of the UK halloween was more of an event than where I grew up. I think dressing up to visit people was known as guising.
Tbh I don't agree with children knocking on the doors of people they don't know. Old people can often find it frightening. Iirc people in the USA put pumpkins outside if they are happy to give out treats?? If that is correct I wish that custom had also been imported. One halloween we were out but when we came home some ' charming ' child had decided we'd been mean by not giving out treats and had sprayed fake blood over the window beside the door. It wasn't easy to wash off the paintwork. :@ :@

Happy Halloween!

Here in my country we do not celebrate this date, so nothing special. In some places there are some costume parties but this year I didn't attend any of them. In any case here at home we celebrate because it's my mother's birthday so somehow or other I'll end up eating a lot :P

Nah, the rule I was taught was if your porchlight is on, you're open for business. If your porchlight is off, you aren't participating (or you're out of candy). I always followed that rule and never knocked or rang if the light was off.
Arrr! Only th' Devil an' I know th' where'bouts o' me treasure, an' th' one o' us who lives th' longes' should take i' all.

That rule would work for me but its not something that's done here as far as I know. I've had to turn the outside light on when answering the door. It looks like the awful weather has literally put a damper on Halloween this year, last year we had Covid restrictions. I don't mind if no-one comes to the door...I can eat the chocolate! ^_^

I had a box of sweets wrapped in packs and also did a few fruit bags, the fruit bags went down just as well.... In each bag there was an apple, a satsuma and a handful of grapes.

I just kept the hallway light on to show people I was 'open'.

This year I only had around 12 knocks on the door. Love seeing the littlies having fun :)
