I figure there ought to be a thread for this.

Feel free to discuss anything 40k related - books, games, table top, figures, etc.
I used to collect Eldar and Space Marines, considering buying some Orks to paint.

My sons used to collect Warhammer stuff. Space Marines sounds familiar and I know they had LOTR items. Its all in various boxes in their old rooms. I keep asking them to sort it out but when they come to stay they never get around to it.

edit to add: the warhammer 40k books are still here as well as all sorts of items including more books and a lot of their school work and even some of their university work.

They're expensive (and fragile), don't throw them out whatever you do. The books might be worth a bit, depending on which ones they have. I paid £20 for my Eldar Codex back in the day, not even hard-back and was basically just a rulebook for my army (with lore and artwork)

I kept hold of my figures for years until I finally decided I was never going to play them or paint over them (only so many times you can do this). Anyway long-story-short I ended up selling my collection on ebay for £120 which I was thought was only worth around £50.

Thanks for the advice :) I wouldn't throw them away because they don't belong to me but I'll be sure to tell sons to check with ebay.
