I ordered something off ebay 5 times. First time item was broken and I lost 500$ because I bought a transmission, I paid 500$ for the guy to put it on my car just to find out it was broken, I had money returned to me but still had to pay 500 to put the transmission on

second time I bought some clothes which said new with tag and they was definitely used

third time bought some headphones and they broke within a day of use

fourth time i bought a psu and it broke within a month

and now 5th time I bought a a gillete for shaving and the seller deactivated account as soon as I sent the payment and now it's been 15 days I never got my item! now funky ass ebay is doing nothing to return my money

First off, Ebay is a legit buy-sell platform! Like 80% of your puchased items get broken from usage in short time! So something is wrong there! And about the guy that closed his account, Ebay accounts can't instantly be closed if the seller wants to close it! It will last like a half year before his account gets inactive! The chance is that his account got banned by Ebay because of repeated frauds! Just open an Ebay case when the estimate arrival time passes! Check out seller feedbacks and sold listings! Where stock photos used? Can't rant about Ebay!

Just because you had some bad experiences doesnt mean the whole site is bad.

Ive never had a fraud purchase and ive done a good number of them. Every time i got what i ordered.

Maybe lay off buying big ticket items as those are the easiest to scam ppl out of.

You've just had a run of (very bad luck), ebay is usually pretty good but you do have to check out any used purchases carefully.

Happy to report though that in 20 years I've only ever had one issue with something I've bough and not a single problem with anything I've sold.

I think calling it a scam is a bit harsh.

I never use ebay due to these reasons, i always order stuff from a companies site or amazon as they have golden return policies.

I'm sure as stated above Ebay still is good but i can buy anything off amazon and know 100% it won't be an image or a keychain of what i wanted...this box seems light....opens it....keychain of a ps5......the hell?

many years ago my gf use to buy and sell on ebay for a living, the issues you speak of are just rare. and are usually easily solve-able with ebay rather easily. (yes double easily cause it is that easy)
