How do you feel about hotbars, and hotbar games in general?
In my experience, people tend to have rather strong and divergent views on this matter. Some people swear by hotbars, others can't stand them. Where do you stand, and why?

category. Hotbars are hopelessly difficult to navigate without using specialty gaming gear, like a gaming mouse with 20+ programmable buttons. Otherwise you're stuck trying to jump your left hand all over the keyboard while not looking, and yet somehow not accidentally hit the wrong damn key.
That means that, although I don't hate the new RS combat system so much mechanics-wise, I think it's even more frustratingly difficult to manage than the old system was.
Hotbars aren't
always
bad, though. They just have to be designed with ease of access in mind. For example, Final Fantasy XIV actually works brilliantly with a controller even though it's a hotbar, because it has a special "Cross Hotbar" that is easily navigated with a controller.

The older I'm getting, the harder I'm finding it to use games that are hotbar-centric. The only game I play besides RS is League of Legends, and that's about as hotbar as you can get - explains why I'm so useless at it! I think they're a great way to expand a game's ability to keep people entertained, though: credit where it's due, definitely!
I like Volvos.
