- 1 kg chicken thighs (I use breasts as it's cheaper and I don't cook it very long to keep it tender)
- 1 brown onion diced (I use two medium)
- 2 Tablespoons of butter (can use any kind of oil instead)
- 1/4 cup curry powder (reduce by half if you like milder flavour. I buy a hot curry powder and still use a 1/4 cup.
- 2 x 400g can of tomato soup (ready to eat or concentrated. I used concentrated, so only used one tin, I made up the concentrated using the tins instructions which is equivalent to two tins of ready to eat.)
- 1/2 cup sour cream
-rice to serve.
- I added lots of garlic to the onion part, even though wasn't asked for in original recipe.

I saw a recipe for butter chicken some time ago. All I remember of it was the whole chicken was deep fat fried in butter instead of oil. Waaay too much butter.

I love Indian food, in fact I bought a beef vindaloo about 3 days ago from a restaurant.

But years ago I would always buy butter chicken either as a takeaway or to eat it in the restaurant. But I got sick of it because it was to sweet, like they put too much sugar or something in it. So I started buying other curries like lamb kofta for example.

But this butter chicken recipe sounds quite nice. I might try and make it.
