Today when talking about skilling with another player I had the thought of "evolution of skilling" or EoS. Basically the idea is to give a toggleable option to make skilling more interactable, just like with combat.

An example would be mining ore. Perhaps there is a rhythm that gives slightly more ore per minute when you match the rhythm of your pickaxe. It doesn't have to be a rhythm, this is just an easy example.

This can achieve two things:
1. This will make skills that are largely AFK more engaging for players who would like to participate in their skills.
2. Could make skilling slightly faster for those who use it. The bonus would have to be small enough that it doesn't make AFK skilling pointless, but large enough that EoS is also not pointless.

What do you think? Would you toggle a rhythm function for skilling if it got you there a little bit faster? Would you feel like 'AFK' skilling is pointless if this was implemented?

There are already mechanics in a few skills that reward players for being active vs AFK. For example, rockertunities in Mining reward you for paying attention. It's very similar to what you have suggested.

If there were to be an EoS, then it would have to be a complete rework IMO. Given the number of skills, it would require each skill to be looked at individually. Mining and Smithing have already received this treatment.

I'm looking forward to the day we see Woodcutting, Thieving, Agility, and Construction receives this treatment. There are already many threads on these topics, so I won't repeat those ideas here.
