Hello,
With this message I would like to suggest resetting a low-level account to play as an Ironman.
I'm a returning player after 10+ years. I've started playing again a month ago. Deciding which game to play, I did some research between the differences of OSRS and RS3. Initially I discarded RS3 immediately after it was portraid as pay to win. I played the tutorial island on both games to give them a go, but went for OSRS instead.
After a month, I got a bit burned out of OSRS (I played a lot). In that month I also watched some more content about Runescape to learn more about the games. Here I discovered (among other things) that Ironman on RS3 is excluded from MTX, and I was really enthusiastic about playing RS3 that way. I was doubting to resume my membership, but let it extend with the thought to have a regular OSRS account and an Ironman RS3 account.
I have spoken with two moderators and somehow it isn't possible, which is a shame. It is possible to remove Ironman, or to remove certain combat stats when low level, therefore it is very unfortunate that becoming an Ironman is not possible on such low levels (next-to none progress).
The solution was to create another account and play an ironman there, however, I'm a student and don't have the means to substantially increase my recurrent costs to video games, I need to watch my wallet so that isn't an option. It is a shame that I can't play the games the way I want. If this was possible this would make me play the game, who knows for how long. I understand the security objections, but what is there to lose for an account with next to none progress? It is just a bummer that I've fallen between two stools.
I have seen multiple threads about this topic and therefore I see value in posting this suggestion, as adviced by the mods. The one membership multiple games is a strong value proposition. It sucks that new players have to make that decision so early in the game, and it is non-reversable.
Kind regards.
